Shedeur Sanders started his first NFL game on Sunday, and he was fine. Not terrible, not brilliant, but fine. Perhaps not the kind of scorching hot take that lands you a seat across from Stephen A. Smith, but a truthful, honest reality.
The thing is: “Fine” is good enough for the Browns. One touchdown, one interception, and a couple of explosive plays is the kind of afternoon that can win games with this team. It’s a unit constructed to operate well, just so long as the QB can give you a modicum of production — and more importantly, not screw anything up.

The Buffalo Bills haven’t had much success in Houston, and that trend continued during an ugly Thursday Night Football “performance.” Down four at the half, the defense clamped down after the break and only allowed three additional points. The offense had six drives to work with and only came up with three of their own points.
Having the game within striking distance for so long and seeing the futility is one of the worst feelings. If it weren’t for penalties, the game may not have been so close.

The Cincinnati Bengals are throwing a figurative Hail Mary by setting Joe Burrow as their starter for Thursday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, just before the timeline for his return from surgery to repair a turf toe injury.
Coach Zac Taylor announced he “anticipates” Burrow will play on Thursday. Burrow seems much more confident and announced as much on his Instagram account.

Now Vitor Matos has the challenge of becoming his own man at Swansea City.
Matos became Swansea’s fifth new manager in five seasons when he was confirmed as Alan Sheehan’s replacement on Monday.
It is the 37-year-old’s first frontline job in British football and comes after just five months as a manager with Portuguese second-tier side Maritimo.
