The Los Angeles 2028 Olympics will kick off “with a bang” with the women’s 100m final taking place on day one and the men’s 100m final on the second day, says World Athletics president Lord Coe.
The opening ceremony of the Games will be on 14 July and the closing ceremony on 30 July, with athletics – which will run for the entire Games – starting in the first week and swimming in the second in “a historic swap”.

AJ Brown has made complaining about his Philadelphia Eagles team and his lack of touches part of his weekly routine nowadays, and while he didn’t stray from it this week, he did add some extra spice to things that is worth discussing.
Brown hauled in two catches on three targets during the Eagles’ 10-7 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night. Through eight games this season, Brown has 31 receptions on 54 targets and three touchdowns to his name. Eight games into last season, the Ole Miss product had 39 catches on 56 targets and four touchdowns.

The sprint to LA28 is one step closer after the competition schedule was officially announced on Wednesday. The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics will begin with the opening ceremony on July 14, and the closing ceremony is set for July 30. The 2028 Olympic Games will feature 36 sports and 51 disciplines
LA28 will be groundbreaking for female Olympians, in particular; for the first time, 50.5% of the 11,200 athletes in 51 sports across 49 venues are women.
