The 2025 Major League Baseball season enters its final weekend today.
And with three teams battling for two spots in the American League, two teams fighting for the final spot in the National League, and a host of division titles and seedings left to determine, the final weekend of play could be one for the ages.
The second game of the Saturday slate sees a pair of old rivals square off, as the Chicago Cubs host the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field. First pitch in that game is set for 2:20 p.m. Eastern.

BERLIN (AP) — Karim Adeyemi scored again as Borussia Dortmund kept pace with Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich by beating Mainz 2-0 away on Saturday.
Dortmund had to do it without star forward Serhou Guirassy, who pulled out before kickoff with a leg problem. Guirassy took a blow in the 1-0 win over Wolfsburg last weekend. Instead, Julian Brandt lined up just behind the front two.
Brandt set up Daniel Svensson for the opener in the 27th minute on a counterattack after Paul Nebel struck the post at the other end.

At first, chairman David Sullivan preferred to offer Potter a short-term deal that would last until the end of that season.
