During the Carolina Panthers’ Week 9 win over the Green Bay Packers, Carolina running back Rico Dowdle scored a touchdown and performed a “two pumps” touchdown celebration (a reference to a famous Key & Peele sketch). Referees flagged him for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, leading to a missed PAT by the Panthers. The NFL also fined Dowdle $14,491 for the celebration.
Fortunately for Dowdle and the Panthers, the missed extra point didn’t cost them the game.

The New Orleans Saints, once again, can’t seem to get out of their own way.
On third-and-nine from their own 31-yard line, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young was intercepted by linebacker Demario Davis on Carolina’s opening possession. But instead of flipping momentum early, the play was wiped out due to an unnecessary roughness penalty on safety Justin Reid for a hit on Young. The penalty not only negated Davis’ outstanding play, but gave the Panthers new life — which they capitalized on with a touchdown run by Rico Dowdle to open the scoring.

Michigan State football has extended an offer to a junior college edge rusher that’s picking up interest on the recruiting trail.
Darius Wiley of Hutchinson C.C. in Hutchinson, Kansas announced on Sunday that he’s picked up an offer from the Spartans. Wiley is an edge rusher in the 2026 class, and announced his offer via a social media post on X.
Wiley is listed as a three-star prospect on 247Sports. He holds a recruiting rating of 86 and is ranked as the No. 4 edge rusher among junior college prospects, according to 247Sports. He is also ranked as the No.

2025 has seen a number of wrestlers depart from All Elite Wrestling and either return to or debut in WWE. This includes Rusev, Aleister Black, Ricky Saints and Blake Monroe, the latter two of whom now hold championship gold in “WWE NXT.” Conversely, it now appears that a former WWE ID talent could be headed to AEW.
According to Fightful Select, AEW has indicated their interest in Zayda Steel, who made headlines last year as the first name confirmed to the WWE ID program.

There is no perfect day for this but former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue died on Sunday – an NFL Sunday.
Appropriate.
Tagliabue’s family announced Tagliabue died at age 84. The apparent cause of death was heart failure complicated by Parkinson’s disease.
His survivors include his wife, Chandler, their son, Drew, and their daughter, Emily.
Tagliabue became commissioner in 1989, taking over for Pete Rozelle. He served 17 years before he was succeeded by current commissioner Roger Goodell in 2006.
He oversaw the expansion of the league to 32 teams.
One of the funniest stories from Week 9 was Rico Dowdle getting flagged for a two-pump Hingle McCringleberry and the fallout from it. Dowdle was fined, Keegan Michael Key chimed in that it was unfair, and it made everyone question what we know about how many pumps are allowed in the NFL.
Week 10 picked up where it left off, with Dowdle and Aaron Jones scoring within minutes os each other — and both setting up for the Hingle McCringleberry, before refusing to pump.
