Mar. 28—VERMILLION, S.D. — Vermillion has become no stranger to a southpaw gunslinger with the Coyotes’ Aidan Bouman under center over the last three seasons.
But on March 26, the pigskin-slinging lefty in the DakotaDome wasn’t Bouman. At South Dakota’s annual pro day, it was Iowa Western Community College quarterback Hunter Dekkers who caught the eyes of NFL scouts, a position he always thought he’d be in.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Stephen Curry is back in Golden State’s lineup for the Warriors’ road game Friday night against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Curry, who has averaged 24.2 points this season, missed the Warriors’ previous two games because of a left pelvic contusion. The injury occurred during a victory over Toronto on March 20 in which Curry scored 17 points in 25 minutes.
Golden State lost each of the past two games Curry missed, dropping to 7-5 when he doesn’t play.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Eric Henderson, who led South Dakota State to two NCAA Tournament appearances in six seasons, has been hired as Drake’s head coach, the school announced Friday.
The 46-year-old Henderson replaces Ben McCollum, who left for Iowa on Monday after leading the Bulldogs to the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and tournament championships and a first-round win over Missouri in the NCAA Tournament.
“My family and I are elated to join Drake Nation,” Henderson said.

The Pittsburgh Pirates lucked into drafting Paul Skenes, who immediately became the best pitcher in baseball after making his debut in 2024. 
Skenes won the Rookie of the Year award in the National League with a tremendous 1.96 ERA, 170 strikeouts in 133 innings against just 32 walks, and just a .197 batting average against. Had he been in the big leagues early enough to make more starts, he’d have had a strong case to win the Cy Young Award in the NL too.
