Matthew Stafford has played 15 seasons in the NFL. Yet he’s still relatively young at 35 years old, having begun his pro career when he was only 21.
However, the Rams quarterback was already an established veteran when Jake Fromm played at Georgia from 2017 to ’19. Four seasons into his NFL career, he’s only 25 years old.
Fromm surely intended to pay a compliment to his fellow Georgia QB when the two met before Week 15’s Commanders-Rams matchup.

Outside of the fact that Mike McDaniel has turned the Miami Dolphins into one of the most exciting teams in the NFL since his arrival a season ago, one of his more likable qualities is his honesty with the media. And boy is he taking his candidness to a whole different level ahead of his team’s showdown with the Dallas Cowboys.
The Dolphins are 10-4 this season and have looked impressive more often than not.
If Brock Purdy can lead San Francisco to a win on Christmas against the Ravens, the trophy might already start being engraved. Lamar Jackson could make waves with a win of his own, though.
The image, frankly, was a little jarring. Kevin Durant, the Durantula, the 6’10” forward with the 7’5″ wingspan, the former MVP who turbocharged the evolution of the big man when he entered the NBA in 2007, standing at the free throw lane in the shadow of Victor Wembanyama, the next iteration of it. An “avatar version” of Durant, said Raptors coach Darko Rajaković, who watched the game on TV.
In his teens—early teens, actually—Wembanyama studied Durant, marveling at his skill set.

Let’s rank the best NBA games on Christmas day.
Christmas day isn’t just for spending time with family, sharing gifts with loved ones, and eating way too many treats: it’s also a day to watch high-level basketball from the afternoon until the moment you finally fall asleep. The NBA is back with another loaded Christmas slate, featuring five games that will span more than 12 hours of the day. The league’s biggest stars are on full display.
In arguably the biggest matchup of Week 16, the 11–3 Ravens travel to the 11–3 49ers on Christmas night, looking to pick up a premier victory in a potential Super Bowl preview.
San Francisco is a 5.5-point favorite at the time of this writing, and that fact hasn’t been lost on several Ravens players around the facility this week. This is just the second time this season that Baltimore has played a game as an underdog, and at 5.5-points, it would be the second-largest spread with the Ravens as a ‘dog in quarterback Lamar Jackson’s career, according to ESPN.
Buddy (the elf), we’ve made it. The absolute peak of the NFL season is here. The peak of the calendar season is here (allegedly, I’ll choose Halloween and Thanksgiving over this week, but you all already know that).
This is where we separate the men from the boys. The contenders from the pretenders. The Cousin Eddies from the Scrooges.
Cowboys-Dolphins? Ravens-49ers? Commanders-Jets?! One of those doesn’t belong, but you know what I mean.
We’ve got a TON of action over the next five days.
As I always say, the games are just the storefront of the NFL; the real work is done behind, around and inside the games. And while the games occur during five months each year, the business of the NFL inexorably marches on, in-season and offseason, with never-ending issues. With that said, here is my list of the NFL’s 10 biggest business of football stories of 2023.
Swift, Taylor and Rodgers were among the biggest NFL off-field newsmakers this year.
Midway through the third quarter of Game 4 of the 2023 WNBA Finals, with her team down by eight, A’ja Wilson took over.
If ever there were a situation for a team to simply bail on a Finals game, this would have been it. Wilson’s Aces had a 2–1 lead in the best-of-five series against the Liberty.

These NFL head coaches could be joining the unemployment line soon.
We are nearing both the end of the calendar year, as well as the end of the NFL regular season.
So it is probably a good time to revisit the coaching hot seat discussion.
We last did this ahead of Thanksgiving, when we graded head coaches based on how cooked they were at the time. It is important to note that two of the coaches we discussed in that piece — Frank Reich and Brandon Staley — have already been relieved of their duties.
