Steelers fans chanted for third-string quarterback Mason Rudolph to enter last Thursday’s game against the Patriots after Mitchell Trubisky struggled.
Rudolph, who has started 10 games in his career, admitted he heard the chants but it was nothing new for him. He tried not to let these shouts distract him from helping the offense during Pittsburgh’s 21–18 loss to New England.
“I’ve been on both sides of that,” Rudolph said, via 93.7 The Fan. “You really can’t let yourself get caught up in that because you lose focus and it affects your mental state. It’s nice to be liked.

So on Thursday night the club that has relied on Herbert fighting through multiple injuries, playing at a high level, and often saving them from themselves since 2020, will turn to Easton Stick as their starter against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Stick will become only the fourth quarterback to start a game for the franchise since 2006.
