Ravens star cornerback Marlon Humphrey is dealing with an unspecified foot injury and will have surgery Wednesday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The team is hopeful he’ll be back in a little over a month, so he will miss the start of the regular season.
It’s unclear how or when Humphrey suffered the injury. Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, he finished the team’s joint practice Tuesday but did not participate in practice on Wednesday.
Missing Humphrey for any time will be a significant loss for a Baltimore team looking to return to the playoffs in 2023.
As the NFL season draws closer, longtime NFL Network host Rich Eisen compiled a list of the top five players with “a chip on their shoulder.”
Eisen revealed the list on his syndicated radio show, the Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday.
At No. 5 on his list, Eisen had Bears QB Justin Fields, who put together a strong second half of the season to emerge as Chicago’s long-term answer at quarterback. The Bears traded their top pick in April’s draft to the Panthers for a haul, and passed on drafting another quarterback, a testament to their belief in him.
Dolphins fans on social media are pretty much in agreement. The Dolphins must pay defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.
The Dolphins are pretty much in agreement, too.
“Christian’s such a good player, such an important person in the locker room, who has made it clear that he feels his play is deserving of a contract,” coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday. “We would agree as the Miami Dolphins organization…”
The sides are negotiating, McDaniel confirmed.
Mike McDaniel talked Wednesday about Christian Wilkins hold in.
Colorado football won just one game in 2022 and it was such a big deal that the students stormed the field. And the win wasn’t even really earned. Cal-Berkeley choked it away.

That will not fly under the new regime.
Deion Sanders took over in December and completely overhauled everything in and around the program.
MORE WACKY NFL NUMBERS
With the NFL’s new number rules becoming more lenient, and EDGE rushers along with linebackers beginning to wear more single digit jerseys, we were bound to get to a skill position player being put in a jersey number that is far more befitting of a player much bigger than him.
New Detroit Lions QB Teddy Bridgewater has just crossed that lexicon, and folks it’s more beautiful than I imagined.

CJ Okoye is one of eight players who have been added to teams around the NFL through the league’s International Pathway program. After joining the Los Angeles Chargers in early May, the 21-year-old Nigerian has certainly learned a lot about the game of football, but certainly not everything.
The Chargers’ preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams this past Saturday marked the first time Okoye has ever played in an organized football game. Okoye showed out during his time on the field picking up a sack on Stetson Bennett on fourth down.
The Matildas captivated a nation during their best-ever run through a Women’s World Cup, but against a superior England side, the magic ran out.
The third annual Commissioner’s Cup was imbued with a different weight than the in-season tournaments of years past. Yes, there was a consequential $500,000 prize pool (which is nothing to scoff at) to play for, but superteam bragging rights were also at stake.
The Commissioner’s Cup trophy is headed to New York, with the Liberty swiping the crown from the Aces, defeating the reigning champions 82–63 in front of a Las Vegas crowd Tuesday.
Touted as WNBA title favorites since the preseason, many have forecasted an Aces-Liberty superteam showdown for the finals.
Nikola Jokić is in full offseason mode at home in Serbia, and Denver Nuggets teammate Aaron Gordon joined him for a day at the racetrack that has the internet in stitches.
Last year, Gordon tracked down Jokić in Prague while the two-time MVP was playing with the Serbian national team. This time, Gordon took teammate goals to a new level, showing up in Serbia to watch horse racing with Jokić.
Jokić certainly appeared to be in offseason mode, rolling in on a bicycle in a tank top and shorts to watch the races with Gordon.
