One of the surest signs of the holiday season is the arrival of the NFL’s first playoff scenarios.
On Monday, the 49ers became the first team in 2023 to punch their ticket into the postseason. The Giants‘ 24–22 win over the Packers, coupled with San Francisco’s 28–16 win over the Seahawks on Sunday, sealed the 49ers’ third straight playoff berth.
This coming week, four more postseason bids are up for grabs. The NFL released scenarios for Week 15 on Wednesday afternoon, bringing clinching into play for the Ravens, Cowboys, Lions and Eagles.

The Patrick Mahomes apology tour made what is probably its last stop on Wednesday when the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback spoke to local reporters and basically told them he’s tried to be a good person as the face of the franchise and the NFL before his sideline outburst on Sunday.
And he’s going to keep that standard and be a good person after the meltdown.

The Eagles use of the Tush Push, their version of the QB sneak, has become a weapon for the team’s offense. It is such a hard play to stop that teams have tried to adopt it themselves—though most of them are unsuccessful—and there have been rumors that the league will look into banning the play in the offseason.
However, it does not seem like the NFL is going to alter the rules to move away from this specific play. NFL executive Troy Vincent said the league is not interested in changing the rules to eliminate the Tush Push.

While Charles Barkley called the NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament a “resounding success,” he also had some choice words and a warning for the Lakers following their championship game victory over the Pacers.
