The return of C.M. Punk to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was never going to be an easy process, but in the span of a few days we’ve seen things go from being fine to an absolute mess. Now the company sits at a crossroads with owner and promoter Tony Khan needing to step in and fix the problem of his own making.
Everything came to a head at AEW Collision in Greensboro on Saturday night.
During the United States’s lackluster Women’s World Cup performance, legendary former USWNT midfielder Carli Lloyd emerged as one of the team’s fiercest critics.
First, Lloyd laid into the Americans after they appeared to celebrate a 0–0 draw with Portugal on Aug. 1, saying “the player of the match was [the] post” that deflected a potential Portuguese goal. After the U.S. was eliminated by Sweden in the round of 16, Lloyd told Fox viewers the nation was “failing at the U-17 level [and] failing at the U-20 level.
The Colts announced on Tuesday that rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson will start in the team’s Week 1 game vs. the Jaguars.
While fans weren’t too surprised that Richardson would get the start over Gardner Minshew, the quarterback himself couldn’t believe the news when he heard it.
“Honestly, I was shocked,” Richardson said, per WISH-TV. “I’ve been grinding, putting in the work to try to get the title, but it’s not really all about the title.

Oakdale Golf Club in Minnesota, located 80 miles west of downtown Minneapolis, experienced a traumatic hail storm this past weekend.
A U.S. Court of Appeals ruled against Major League Baseball umpire Angel Hernandez’s racial discrimination lawsuit stemming from him not being chosen to work World Series games. It was the second ruling against Hernandez’s case, after a 2021 District Court ruled on behalf of MLB before Hernandez then appealed to the higher court.
Hernandez, who was born in Cuba, argued that the league was discriminated against him by not selecting him to work a World Series in 12 years. The lawsuit was filed in 2017 and Angel’s last time umping a Series was 2005.
Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl tight end TJ Hockenson has been a limited participant at training camp this month thanks to a unique ailment: a lingering ear infection.
According to the Star Tribune, the former Iowa standout was a full participant during the Vikings’ walk-through on Monday, but later revealed his equilibrium had been affected by the ear infection.
“I had an ear infection that was messing with my equilibrium. So, just taking it slow and trying to get back as quick as I can,” Hockenson told reporters.
“I want to be out there with the boys, obviously.
Former NBA superstar Kevin Garnett appears to be tired of waiting for Anthony Davis to be as consistently dominant as he believes the Lakers big man is capable of. In turn, the former Timberwolves and Celtics All-Pro is calling out Davis with some lofty expectations.
During a recent episode of KG Certified on Showtime Basketball, Garnett discussed Davis and what he wants to see the 30-year-old big man do within the next two years. The short and simple breakdown? Win the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award. Garnett made a few strong statements to support his comments.
As the 2023 college football season quickly approaches, there is a lot of chatter surrounding the Texas Longhorns and whether they are truly “back,” as they have claimed for the last four years.
