Actor and comedian Kevin Hart fielded a question way out of left field from 76ers guard Patrick Beverley during an alternate broadcast of the NBA in-season tournament final between the Lakers and Pacers on Saturday.
Hart, the host of ESPN’s alternate broadcast NBA Unplugged, was caught off guard when one of his guests, Beverley, brought up a sensitive topic.
Beverley, who’s no stranger to inciting controversy on and off the court, told Hart, “I got a daughter, and I like to call myself a girl dad.

A matchup between the North Dakota State men’s basketball team and a non-Division I team on Sunday produced a ludicrous final score that has fans everywhere in amazement.
While it’s not uncommon for Division I schools like NDSU to occasionally play teams from lower divisions during the non-conference season to bolster their home schedule, its matchup with Oak Hills Christian College was certainly an outlier. Oak Hills Christian, a school with a listed enrollment of just 100 students in Bemidji, Minn., isn’t part of the NCAA at all.
Good morning, I’m Dan Gartland. If I hadn’t quit playing baseball when I was 14 I might have signed a $700 million contract this weekend.

Three of the NFL’s best go down
With the end of the NFL regular season fast approaching, three of the top teams in the league were dealt worrisome losses in Week 14 as the Chiefs, Eagles and Lions all lost ground in the hunt for their conferences’ No. 1 seed.

Patrick Mahomes is mad at the wrong people.
There’s a tendency to want to find someone to blame when things go wrong, especially when it comes to protecting ourselves or our friends. Patrick Mahomes did just this in the wake of the game-defining offensive offsides penalty on Kadarius Toney in Bills-Chiefs, which erased the go-ahead touchdown and effectively sealed the game.
Mahomes has been blasting the referees, as has Chiefs’ coach Andy Reid.
The NFL has truly gone out of its way to make sure quarterbacks aren’t breathed on too harshly, and that was on display Sunday with C.J. Stroud.
It’s not a secret the NFL is doing everything it can to protect quarterbacks. It’s the most important position in sports, and the league is committed to making sure they’re protected now more than ever before.
That doesn’t sit well with a lot of fans. It’s a violent sport, and QBs pretty much being spared from massive hits has led to a lot of displeasure.

Louis Oosthuizen prevailed at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in his native South Africa on Monday, after weather delayed the final round.
Chalk it up as another victory for LIV Golf.
Not only did the Saudi-backed circuit score a big win by signing Jon Rahm last week, but the league now has four straight winners on the DP World Tour after this week’s Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa.
Like any outdoor market that runs through an urban downtown, there is inevitably a T-shirt vendor. And at the entrance to Kalemegdan Park, at the base of a pedestrian promenade in Belgrade, the T-shirt guy offers two main choices. One is a shirt adorned with an image of Novak Djokovic, face contorted in intensity, as he is, no doubt, about to win one tennis title or another. The other option features Nikola … no, not Jokić, but Tesla, the Serbian American father of modern electricity, best known for pioneering alternating current in the late 1800s.
Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney’s critical offside penalty in Sunday’s thriller against the Bills has become one of the most controversial moments of the NFL season. The penalty negated of the best plays of the season after Travis Kelce made a miraculous lateral across the field to Toney for what appeared to be a go-ahead touchdown with just over a minute left in the game.
A few takeaways from Devin Haney’s decisive decision win over Regis Prograis on Saturday …
This was a boxing clinic
Haney, a 4-to-1 favorite coming in, was expected to win. But he certainly wasn’t expected to dominate. As good as Haney looked winning two fights against George Kambosos Jr. and as impressive as a narrow decision win over Vasyl Lomachenko was, this performance against Prograis—a rare 120–107 decision on all three judges scorecards—was his finest.
In a battle of NFC powers on Sunday night, it was the Cowboys who emerged victorious over the Eagles, 33—13, at AT&T Stadium. Not only did Dallas exact revenge for its Week 9 loss in Philadelphia, but the Cowboys also moved into a tie for first place in the NFC East at 10–3 while reaffirming their status as a Super Bowl contender.
Needless to say, Dallas fans were feeling good.
How good?
One perfect sign created by a Cowboys fan, roasting Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and his team’s trademark phrase, answers that question pretty well.
Check out this clever sign.
