During his four-year stint in Phoenix, the veteran guard amassed career highs in multiple statistical categories, including three-point shooting percentage, games played, points per game, assists per game and games started.
In July, Phoenix traded Payne, a second-round pick and cash considerations to the Spurs for a protected second-round pick in 2024.
Much has been made of Jimmy Garoppolo’s early struggles during Raiders training camp recently but defensive end Maxx Crosby came to the veteran’s defense Thursday and said his quarterback has made some big improvements this week.
“He came out the last two days, he’s been incredible,” Crosby said, per ESPN.
On Sunday, coach Josh McDaniels addressed Garoppolo throwing seven interceptions in the span of just two practices, saying he had “no concerns” regarding the play of his new quarterback.
“We’ve also seen some very good throws,” McDaniels said.

As is the case across the league throughout training camp, the Lions and Giants held a joint practice on Wednesday as the teams ramp up activity ahead of the regular season.
The spotlight is always on the stars, and there is no shortage of them at defensive end amongst these two teams, with Giants star Kayvon Thibodeaux and the Lions boasting Aidan Hutchinson.
The two pass rushers are no strangers, as Hutchinson and Thibodeaux were going head-to-head as two of the top edge prospects in the 2022 draft. Hutchinson ended up being selected with the No.

Favre’s first motion to have the charges dismissed was denied in April, and he filed an appeal in May, per Anna Wolfe of Mississippi Today.
WNBA player Kahleah Copper was not impressed by a question she received during a news conference and teed off on the reported who asked it.
The Chicago Sky star was fielding questions after the team’s 88-79 loss to the Minnesota Lynx.

With that in mind, one reporter asked Copper what bench players needed to do going forward to boost their production.
