A better title for the Johnny Manziel documentary on Netflix called “Untold: Johnny Football” may be “Told All: Johnny Manic.”
Or maybe as Manziel himself says, “Johnny F-in Football.”
The 72-minute program released this week plays like 36 editions of a great two-minute offense, which Manziel engineered spectacularly while Texas A&M’s quarterback in 2012 and ’13.
Produced and directed by Ryan Duffy, it is the fastest moving and expertly edited sports documentary since ESPN’s “Pony Excess” in 2010 on SMU’s outlaw football program.

After highlighting players who’ll likely surpass their Yahoo Fantasy projections for the 2023 football season, Antonio Losada looks at those who could fall short.
Week 1 of the preseason kicks off Thursday evening and unlike last week’s Hall of Fame Game, you can expect to see starters on the field, at least for a few series.
Plenty of rookies — No. 1 pick Bryce Young and No. 2 pick C.J. Stroud among them — will take their first NFL snaps as position battles play out around the league. Performance in these games can potentially be informative as players jockey for an edge, so it’s important for fantasy managers to monitor these situations in the lead up to the start of the season.
At first glance, it appears that Derek Carr is fitting in well with the Saints and loving his new home in New Orleans.
Carr signed a four-year deal with the Saints in March after visiting with several teams following a rocky end to his tenure with the Raiders last season. After spending all of his first nine NFL seasons with the franchise, Carr is taking advantage of his fresh start in New Orleans, especially when it comes to physical stature.
The Green Monster at Fenway Park has produced plenty of funky plays over its more than 110 years of history, but one particularly strange play Wednesday night might have been a first.
In the second inning, Royals center fielder Kyle Isbel drilled a line drive to left field, over the head of Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida. Instead of bouncing off of the Green Monster, the ball smashed through one of the built-in lights in the wall used for counting outs. Yoshida was baffled as he looked to retrieve the ball off the wall before eventually spotting it inside the light.
White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. has some serious power. He leads all big league center fielders with 31 home runs this season, including four that traveled at least 430 feet. He’s the kind of guy who you might say can hit the ball clear out of the stadium. In fact, he did exactly that on Wednesday night against the Yankees.
In the third inning, New York starter Luis Severino hung a changeup in the upper part of the zone that Robert jumped on.

Mickelson is known as an avid gambler, but Billy Walters’ new book reveals much more about the six-time major champion’s betting habits.
On Thursday, the Fire Pit Collective released an excerpt from Billy Walters’ new book, Gambler: Secrets from a Life at Risk, revealing some bombshells about Phil Mickelson’s gambling habits.
ESPN’s College GameDay will add “Stanford Steve” Coughlin, a mainstay of Scott Van Pelt’s late night SportsCenter program and former host of the betting podcast Stanford Steve and the Bear, that he recorded weekly with former ESPN producer Chris Fallica.
Coughlin will contribute as a betting analyst, giving out his best picks for Saturdays this fall.
Antoine Walker was ahead of his time for the 2000s Celtics
Few players in NBA history provide as much comedic relief as Antoine Walker.

And it makes sense. He was a goofy dude, with a funky-looking physique (more on that later), and he took a ton of shots (more on that, a well). And sometimes, those shots were highly unwarranted. Heck, never once in his 12-year career was his shooting efficiency (measured by true shooting) at or above league average.
Nearly a decade after Odell Beckham Jr. burst onto the scene as an instant star in New York, the Giants may have another, lesser known, breakout offensive weapon.
