Just ahead of every NFL season, fans are treated to the NFL Network and NFL Films’ release of the top 100 players heading into the new year. It’s a list voted on by the league’s players, so it gives fans a bit of a front-and-center feel for how dominant some of the best players in football are, according to their peers.
Best of all, there’s always a good tidbit or two from a rival or elite player at the same position for each name on the list. This was certainly the case when Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was revealed as the No. 6 overall player in the Top 100.

The Green Monster giveth, and the Green Monster taketh away.
Every baseball player and fan knows that Boston’s Fenway Park outfield wall, nicknamed “the Green Monster,” is an absolute terror for the actual gameplay of the sport. The wall looks like a drunk Bostonian made it – with zig-zags and all sorts of weird dimensions.
And then, BOOM!
Out of nowhere you have the Monster itself sprouting up at 37-feet for some unknown reason.
Nothing like a little sibling rivalry to begin their NBA careers.
Amen and Ausar Thompson, who were drafted with back-to-back picks in June’s draft, opened up about their rivalry with USA Today earlier this week.
Ausar, who went No. 5 to the Pistons, one pick after Amen went No. 4 to the Rockets, may already have a chip on his shoulder based on that alone. Going from teammates in the G-League to opponents on the NBA floor has changed the mindset of the twin duo.
“It’s different,” Ausar said. “I just don’t like his team, really. I don’t like him, really.
The Tennessee Titans have released initial plans for Nashville’s new $2.1 billion multi-use stadium.
The biggest decision of Harry Kane’s historic career awaits after Tottenham reportedly accepted Bayern Munich’s offer of more than $110 million for the England star, according to ESPN.
Now, the longtime Spurs forward must decide whether to see out the final year of his contract in north London or move to the Bundesliga giants with the Premier League season kicking off this weekend.
The 30-year-old forward had previously declined to sign a new contract at Tottenham, which risked watching the club’s all-time top goalscorer leave on a free transfer next summer.
Back by popular demand—or force of habit—it’s time for the annual preseason College Football’s Most Intriguing lists. Last week we went over the coaches. This week: Most Intriguing Quarterbacks. Let’s dive in:
1. Caleb Williams, USC
The man with the profane manicures and all the dazzling pocket moves is on his way to being the No. 1 draft pick next spring. Every college QB since Trevor Lawrence went pro has engendered some nagging doubt in NFL scouts—Williams, not so much.
Celtics star Jayson Tatum picked up golf during the NBA COVID-19 bubble in 2020 and has been an avid player ever since.
Tatum participated in the Wednesday Pro-Am event at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and in a meeting with reporters was asked about Marcus Smart’s departure. Smart was traded earlier this offseason to the Grizzlies as part of a three-team deal that landed the Celtics former Wizards star Kristaps Porziņģis.
“They’re getting a leader,” Tatum said when asked what Memphis would get from Smart.
If you haven’t tried best ball yet, it’s time to jump in! It’s a great way to practice for your drafts in late August and early September. Best ball drafts are a great way to practice your build, whether it’s zero RB or hero RB or something else.
The great thing about best ball is that there is no in-season management. Just set it and forget it. There’s no worrying about making the best start/sit decisions. The software automatically selects your highest-scoring lineup for the week after the games are played.
Stephen Curry had the chance to meet, coach and even share the floor with one of the NBA’s next budding stars before his potential upside had even full come to light.
The Warriors star has hosted an NBA camp for each of the past eight years, and it’s featured some of the biggest names from the next wave of talent in both men’s and women’s basketball. A few of those names, such as Anthony Edwards, Jalen Green, Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers, were mentioned as examples during a recent interview between Curry and Complex’s Kameron Hay.
With the Hall of Fame game behind us, we’re now cruising—cruising, I tell you—into the bulk of the NFL preseason. It’s safe to say that the only person more excited than us (I’m assuming, like me, there’s something wrong with you if you’re reading this) is John Harbaugh, who wore a “1–0” shirt to his press conference Tuesday. He likens his comically long, 23-game preseason winning streak to a no-hitter in baseball, which means we don’t discuss it until it’s over. Or maybe at all.
We are truly living in peak society, my friends.
