Melvin Gordon added more discourse Tuesday to the conversation about the value of running backs in today’s NFL.
In July, Gordon signed a one-year, $1.165 million deal with the Ravens. The two-time Pro Bowler is one of several running backs who have spoken about the perceived diminishing value at the position. 
The Giants’ Saquon Barkley, Raiders’ Josh Jacobs and Cowboys’ Tony Pollard failed to receive contract extensions this offseason.

The Los Angeles Dodgers demolished the San Diego Padres on Monday afternoon, riding an eight-run fourth inning to a 13-7 victory.
And the Padres’ starting pitcher believes they had some inappropriate help.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reported that Seth Lugo and others in the Padres clubhouse “were convinced” that the Dodgers knew “at least some of the time what pitches were coming.”
The accusation stems from Lugo’s belief that something changed after he allowed just two hits with two strikeouts through the first third innings.

Da’vian Kimbrough is charting his own path on the soccer field.
On Tuesday, Kimbrough became the youngest professional soccer player (13 years, 5 months and 13 days) in the United States when he signed a professional contract with the USL’s Sacramento Republic FC. The 13-year-old phenom also became the youngest pro athlete among North American professional sports that include the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and WNBA.
That title was previously held by New York City FC’s Maximo Carrizo, who signed with the club at age 14 in February ’22.
