The future of Vlatko Andonovski is one of many questions facing the USWNT
The U.S. Women’s National Team experienced a disappointing run at the Women’s World Cup, advancing as the runners-up out of their group and eventually losing in the Round of 16 to Sweden. That stands as their worst finish in a Women’s World Cup, and has led to questions about where the program goes from here.
So, let’s try and answer those, as the USWNT picks up the pieces from an underwhelming performance Down Under.

Blue Jays rookie Davis Schneider isn’t related to Toronto manager John Schneider, but it turns out that there is a coincidental connection between the two.
Davis Schneider made his MLB debut on Friday in Boston, the culmination of seven seasons of hard work after he was selected in the 28th round of the 2017 draft. Schneider plodded away for years in the low levels of the minors, not even advancing to Double A until his sixth season as a pro.

The English forward lost her cool and put herself at the center of the Women’s World Cup’s most infamous moment.
England forward Lauren James has come under fire for stepping on Nigerian forward Michelle Alozie during the Lionesses Round of 16 victory over Nigeria.
James was given a red card and sent off from the match due to the stomp, which you can see happen at around the 2:38 mark.

Brewers rookie reliever Abner Uribe already is making a name for himself among baseball fans despite having thrown just 10 2/3 innings at the MLB level.
During a relief appearance on Sunday, Uribe showcased some devastating movement on his sinker, striking out the Pirates’ Jack Suwinski on a pitch that quite frankly wasn’t even fair.
Suwinski didn’t stand a chance against the 99-mph sinker from Uribe, which broke away from the plate in jaw-dropping fashion.
After a frustrating 2022–23 campaign—which began with All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns sustaining a calf injury early on that kept him out for 51 games and largely ended with a Naz Reid wrist fracture, a self-inflicted hand injury to Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert punching teammate Kyle Anderson in a team huddle—the Timberwolves should get a more unfiltered look at what they have this season.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has enjoyed a strong NFL career, and at age 30, he still has plenty of time left as a QB1 to build on his career legacy. There’s little or question debate that, at this moment, Prescott does not project as a Hall of Famer, but whether or not that outlook shifts in the coming seasons remains to be seen.
When Fox Sports 1’s Skip Bayless recently addressed the question, which was posed by a fan, on The Skip Bayless Show, he opted to take a … different route in his response.
This is magic.
The most infamous baseball fight of the year will be forever remembered in images and video — but another medium is making Jose Ramirez’s knockout punch of Tim Anderson look entirely different.

ESPN fired Rachel Nichols in 2021 after a mole leaked a privately-recorded phone call in which she attributed race to the network promoting Maria Taylor over her as the host of the NBA Finals.
Nichols was not wrong in her assessment. ESPN chose Taylor, a black woman, over Nichols, a white woman, at a time of heightened racial tensions following the death of George Floyd.
Nichols’ then-boss, ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro, all but admitted he chose Taylor because of her race by declaring diversity the No. 1 priority inside ESPN.
A friendly wager that Manny Machado apparently made in 2019 has not aged well, and the fan who inspired the bet recently reminded the Padres slugger about it. And no, he didn’t do so quietly.
Four years ago, a Dodgers fan could be heard heckling Machado before he stepped to the plate during a game at Dodger Stadium after Machado had left Los Angeles for San Diego to sign a massive deal worth $300 million over 10 years.
“Manny, congrats. With that big of a contract, you’ve got 10 Octobers off. Congrats,” the fan said at that 2019 game. “Come on, you could have had it all in L.
