CANTON — The number is 10,363.
It is the number of a great servant. Of an NFL career.
It’s the number of a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Joe Thomas is all about that number. It represents the number of consecutive snaps he took during his 11 year-career.
“I want to start by talking about a random number— the number 10,363. Not too random,” Thomas said at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium during his enshrinement on Saturday. “That’s how many consecutive snaps I had in my career.

NFL fans who descended upon Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio for the 2023 Hall of Fame ceremony were treated to several memorable moments from a handful of the sport’s greatest players.
Among the nine players who received busts was Browns standout tackle Joe Thomas who delivered one of the funniest moments of the day when he joked about Cleveland’s instability at the quarterback position during his 11 seasons.
“To my quarterbacks, all of them, 20. Yes. I’ve blocked for more starting quarterbacks than any other player in NFL history,” Thomas joked.

The Mets have come a long way in a calendar year, in the worst sense of the phrase possible.
In 2022, New York looked poised to win the NL East before a white-hot Braves team ran them down after the trade deadline. The team spent big in free agency after losing in the first round of the postseason, and have sputtered this season, currently sitting fourth in the division with a 50–59 record.

Thomas has given himself a chance at the FedEx Cup playoffs, but made clear how little that means to him relative to the Ryder Cup.
Justin Thomas has had his fair share of ups and downs this season. He has not played like the former No. 1 player or even the guy that won the PGA Championship last year. He has made just three cuts in the last eight starts. However with his season on the line this week, the 15-time PGA Tour winner has found something in his game.

I don’t care how empty your schedule might be on a random Friday in early August, for the mast majority of people, we would still be too busy to stand across the street from a restaurant and watch LeBron James eat.
Apparently, these people had nothing better to do.
The Los Angeles Lakers star decided to eat al fresco — although let’s just call it what it is; he was eating outside — and some folks decided to stop in and have a look-see.

People are lining up to watch LeBron eat pic.twitter.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has spent much of his six-year career bending the limits of what’s possible for an NFL signal-caller. Beyond his pair of Super Bowl titles and quintet of Pro Bowl seasons, he’s accumulated an impressive highlight reel of no-look and otherwise improvised passes.
However, one Rubicon Mahomes has never crossed is throwing a behind-the-back pass during a regular season game. In Feb.

Front end of two Saturday camps for me, this one with the Chargers in Costa Mesa. Here’s what we got …

Justin Herbert’s been locked in through two weeks of camp—playing fast and confident, throwing an accurate ball and finding his voice as a leader. There’s very little question here either that he fits new coordinator Kellen Moore’s scheme, which is built to force the defense to cover every blade of grass out there, something that, on paper, should unlock Herbert as a quarterback.

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler is recovering from his second Tommy John surgery, hoping for a potential return next month.
Despite having surgery less than a year ago, Buehler’s been adamant that his recovery has progressed ahead of schedule. According to Buehler himself, he’s set to face hitters on August 8th and go out on a rehab assignment soon afterwards.
Given it’s his second Tommy John, there’s increased scrutiny on his arm and pitching motion.
