LPGA players like Zhang and Vu know how to putt and carried their PGA Tour partners in Round 1 of the Grant Thornton Invitational.
There hasn’t been a mixed event bringing the PGA and LPGA Tours together since 1999. That finally ended until this year as they joined forces for the Grant Thornton Invitational.
Each day will feature a different format for the three-day 54-hole event.
There are 16 teams in the event, with each comprised of one LPGA and one PGA star.
In Round 1, scores were crazy low, as they played a scramble.

After turning in a standout final season at USC, wide receiver Brenden Rice, son of football icon Jerry Rice, will look to join the pros this spring after declaring for the 2024 NFL draft on Friday.
Rice, who spent the past two seasons with the Trojans, announced his decision in a farewell message to USC on X (formerly Twitter). The wideout joins the ’24 draft ranks on the heels of a senior season where he logged a career-high 45 catches, 791 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Tulane hired Troy’s Jon Sumrall to be their next head coach on Friday, the school announced. The two sides agreed on a six-year deal, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
“This is a landmark day for Tulane Football,” director of athletics David Harris said in a statement. “Jon’s passion for the game is unmatched, and I really felt that in meeting him. The Green Wave will be in good hands under his leadership, and we’re excited that he and Ginny have elected to make their family part of ours here at Tulane.
