Here comes another NBA player to remind us that athletes aren’t necessarily the smartest when it comes to politics.
Larry Nance, Jr. — forward for the New Orleans Pelicans — took to X / Twitter on Wednesday to criticize the Orlando Magic after news surfaced that their ownership group made a $50,000 donation to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (a Republican).

After former U.S. national team star and current Fox soccer analyst Carli Lloyd received some backlash after she criticized the USWNT’s 0–0 draw against Portugal, the two-time World Cup champion walked back some of her comments, emphasizing that her criticism came from her love of the team.
Lloyd also got messages of support from people who agreed with the sentiment of her words—including some from her Fox colleague, Alexi Lalas.

Bears are becoming more brazen in recent days, from hot tub excursions to stealing golf equipment. The reactions are priceless.
Golfers in certain parts of the world know they need to be aware of their surroundings. Whether its snakes in the deep rough, or coyotes in the mountains, animal presence is something on a golfer’s mind from time to time.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is entering his 10th season in the NFL. In each of his first nine seasons, he’s had at least 1,000 yards receiving. He’s the only receiver in NFL history to accomplish that feat.
Even more impressive, he eclipsed 1,000 yards as a rookie in 2014. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterbacks that season were Josh McCown and Mike Glennon.
In each of the next five seasons, Evans mostly caught passes from Jameis Winston.

Allen claims that Rodgers “sandbagged” the entire golf field, which means the Jets starter lied about his handicap to make it look like he’s worse than he is. Apparently, his handicap was listed at 10, even though he normally sits at a three, per Golf Digest.

That’s especially true in the soft part of the schedule, which included Wednesday’s series finale against the last-place Nationals.
Milwaukee had lost four of its previous five games to fall out of first place but had the chance to win the series against Washington. Staked to a 2–1 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning, though, everything fell apart.

New England Patriots starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing plateau last year in his sophomore NFL season. He’s looking to do that again. But as of now, Stevenson isn’t yet fully practicing with the team. And apparently, only head coach Bill Belichick knows why.

Trent Brown, Matthew Judon and Rhamondre Stevenson are limited today. Patriots have taken it easy with all three of them this summer.
Matthew Slater, Ed Lee and Brad Hawkins also left the main field after warmups.
