For a moment or two, it seemed like it was going to be another majestic home run by Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani. Michael Harris II had other ideas.
The Braves center fielder denied Ohtani of what would have been his 40th home run of the season by timing his leap at the wall perfectly to keep the ball in the yard in the ninth inning on Monday night’s game. It would have been a three-run homer for Ohtani, who instead had to settle for a loud out.
The long fly out traveled 406 feet with an exit velocity of 101.2 miles per hour, according to Statcast.

On Sunday, the L.A. Dodgers hosted their first “Christian Faith and Family Day” at Chavez Ravine since 2019 and nearly two months since LA honored “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” an LGBT group whose past digs at religion drew criticism.

After receiving a two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s PED policy, Cowboys running back Ronald Jones shared his thoughts on the punishment in a message on social media Monday night.
Jones, who signed with Dallas as a free agent in March, addressed his situation on Twitter in a tweet in which the 25-year-old claimed he “never knowingly” took any banned substances. Jones also said he would “never cheat” the game he loves before vowing to “investigate” the matter to avoid future issues.
Wrote Jones, “I love this game and would never cheat it.

According to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, Notre Dame has re-upped with Under Armour and are going to be filthy rich. The new contract is the most lucrative apparel deal in the history of college athletics.
Both parties have declined to comment so the deal may not be ready to announce, but Dellenger doesn’t miss. The Irish are apparel rich!
Under Armour and the Golden Domers have been partners for almost a decade now.

A day after receiving plenty of online flak for making an insensitive joke about former Michigan State sports doctor and convicted sexual abuser Larry Nassar, ESPN personality Pat McAfee doubled down on it Monday, openly wondering why anybody would want him to apologize.
