The final week of the PGA Tour regular season is here, which means FedEx Cup Playoff hopefuls need to play well in order to make it to Memphis.
Before the 3M Open in Minnesota, Lee Hodges was jockeying for position within the top 70 of the FedEx Cup Playoff standings.

If you’ve long been a fan of pro and fantasy football, you probably know that it can oftentimes be difficult to predict. Heck, I always say “the only thing predictable about the NFL is its unpredictability.” That statement is true every single season.
Remember how we all thought the Seahawks offense was in trouble last year with Geno Smith taking over for Russell Wilson? We all know how that turned out. Wilson was awful in Denver and Smith was surprisingly a top-five fantasy quarterback.
Aaron Rodgers agreed to restructure his contract with the Jets ahead of his first season with the team. The new deal will see Rodgers take a gargantuan $33.7 million pay cut, something the 39-year-old said was a show of his commitment to the franchise.
Speaking with NBC Sports’s Peter King, Rodgers opened up on his decision to forgo such a significant chunk of salary for his new team.
“I thought it was important they knew how committed I was. And in my conversations with Joe [Douglas], he has made it very clear the vision for the football team,” said Rodgers.
Colts running back Zack Moss broke his arm in practice on Monday and is expected to miss around six weeks, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports. It is unclear whether Moss will be ready to return for Week 1 or if he will be back a few weeks into the season.
Moss had been serving as Indianapolis’ starting running back as the team and Jonathan Taylor remain far apart on contract extension negotiations. Taylor recently requested a trade from the Colts, while Indianapolis has considered placing him on the Non-Football Injury list while he is not in training camp.
NFL running back Sony Michel abruptly retired over the weekend. The Rams re-signed him in June, expecting him to play this season. But after just five seasons in the NFL with the Patriots, Rams and Chargers, the 28-year-old back called it a career.
His retirement highlights the biggest issue facing running backs in today’s football world: longevity. Everyone knows that exists. Running back has never been a position where players stick around for more than five or six seasons.
Even though he has yet to arrive at Ohio State, Aaron Scott Jr. is already getting in on the rivalry with Michigan. His savage commitment to the Buckeyes ripped out the hearts of the Wolverines.
Scott, a four-star defensive back in the college football recruiting Class of 2024, hails from Springfield, Ohio. He is considered a top-50 prospect overall, the top player in his home state and the No. 4 player at his position.

As the Women’s World Cup takes center stage, the transfer market has seemed to slow somewhat over the last week.
However, things are still shaping up to be a big summer for U.S. men’s national team transfers with plenty of movement expected by the time the new season kicks off.

Ciganda shared her side of the story after being disqualified at the Evian Championship following her second round.
LPGA’s Carlota Ciganda was disqualified after the second round of the Evian Championship last Friday. The rules officials disqualified her for signing an incorrect scorecard resulting from slow play.
Following the incident, the two-time LPGA winner responded on her Instagram page, giving her side of the story.
“I got a few messages about the DQ from yesterday,” she said in an Instagram story.
The 49ers have Super Bowl talent. Those Lombardi ambitions could rise or fall on how the quarterback situation shakes out in August.
Shortly after Lee Hodges picked up his first PGA Tour win at Sunday’s 3M Open, he received a congratulatory phone call from Alabama football coach Nick Saban.
Hodges played college golf at Alabama, so it seemed fitting that Saban would call him after his win. However, the call ended up sounding like an awkward situation for both Hodges and Saban.
Here’s part of their conversation:
“Hey coach,” Hodges said.
“Hey Lee, how are you doing buddy?” Saban replied.
“How are ya, bud?” Hodges said.
“Great, congratulations,” Saban said.
“Thank you, pal.
