A biological male rugby player in Canada who identifies as non-binary was reportedly removed from a match in June after allegedly injuring three female competitors. The man’s identity has now been discovered and according to his former team’s Facebook page, he was named ‘men’s hardest hitter’ just last year.
The original story about a transwoman allegedly injuring three separate female competitors was first shared by photographer Diana Murphy on Twitter. Murphy explained that after “repeated dangerous tackles” the trans player was finally removed from the game.

1. ESPN’s dismissal of longtime NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy keeps getting weirder.
The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand reported Monday that ESPN is expected to go with a new lead NBA booth of Mike Breen, Doris Burke and Doc Rivers.
I fully expect this to be a very good booth because Rivers was an excellent analyst when he did TV, and Burke is outstanding.
But something still doesn’t add up when it comes to Van Gundy. The threesome of Breen, Van Gundy and Mark Jackson worked together for nearly 20 years. Van Gundy was widely regarded as the best NBA game analyst on television.
Who has the roughest roads ahead and who will be taking a simpler route? These are the matchups, from tough tests to cupcakes, that have our attention.
As in previous years, there are some teams who don’t have an obvious No. 1 running back fantasy managers can draft. Jorge Martin looks to clarify these groups.
A few takeaways from an incredible week in boxing …
What was most impressive about Terence “Bud” Crawford’s one-sided win over Errol Spence Jr. was how easy Crawford made it look. For years the boxing world has been waiting for Crawford to square off against a peer. When he did, he made it obvious he doesn’t have one, at least not at welterweight, where Crawford dispatched Spence by landing 50% of his total punches, per CompuBox and a whopping 60% of his power shots.
It took 15 years, but Crawford is now in that sweet spot where his skill will meet opportunity.

Zhang recorded a top-ten finish in a major yet again as the 20-year-old continues to light up the golfing world.
Rose Zhang tied for ninth at the Amundi Evian Championship in France this past weekend. It is the third time this season that the former Stanford Cardinal finished within the top 10 at a major, in three starts.
All-time great competitors always find a way to give themselves some extra motivation. For Jalen Hurts, he found a way to remind himself of the most heartbreaking loss of his career every single day.
Eagles punter Ty Zentner posted a video to his Instagram story of the team’s rookie singing showcase and Hurts can be seen taking out his phone to take a video of the hilarious performance. In the video, Hurts’s lockscreen is revealed to be a picture of himself after losing Super Bowl LVII to the Chiefs in February.
Steelers wide receiver George Pickens was recently interviewed by The Ringer’s Kevin Clark, and the second-year player did not hold back his thoughts on his own game.
After his rookie season, Pickens already feels like he is “the best in the whole world.”
“The stuff that I do, bro, I feel like I’m the best in the whole world,” Pickens said. “I’m big, I’m fast, low 4.4 [speed]. Catch radius is crazy. So every time I get out on the field, I do kind of play angry because I should get the ball on every play if you just look at the size and the frame.

Phil Mickelson is tweeting again, this time making bold claims regarding the LIV Golfers potential return to the PGA Tour.
Phil Mickelson has resurfaced on Twitter.
After being relatively inactive the last couple months, Mickelson dropped another bomb on the PGA Tour online.
The left-handed legend commented on a snippet from a story detailing what the LIV Golf players may have to do to get back in the PGA Tour’s good graces.
“What a colossal waste of time,” Mickelson tweeted. “Not a single player on LIV wants to play PGA Tour.
Rangers outfielder Adolis García has a five-game hit streak going, but not all of those hits are created equal.
On Wednesday, he hit a grand slam against the Astros that led both benches to clear. On Sunday, he kept his streak alive with a weak dribbler that he hit off the very end of his bat.
Facing Blake Snell in third inning of the game in San Diego, García checked his swing on an inside fastball. He barely started the swing, but moved his bat just enough that the knob was facing toward the mound. Improbably, the ball glanced off tiny bit of exposed wood and skittered past Snell.
