There was a scary moment between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Angels when a pitch drilled outfielder Taylor Ward in the face.
In the top of the 5th inning, Ward stepped to the plate with the bases loaded against Toronto righty Alek Manoah. Manoah wound up and winged a 92mph sinker with an 0-2 count, only it went high and inside and hit Ward.

Fortunately, medical personnel got to Ward soon, but that’s nasty.

Colts running back Jonathan Taylor requested a trade following a meeting with franchise owner Jim Irsay, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Rapoport reported that Irsay arrived at Colts practice and met with the fourth-year back on board his private luxury bus. The move from the Indianapolis owner seemingly came in an attempt to repair the relationship with the club’s top position player amid reports that the two sides remained far apart on a potential contract extension.

The future of U.S. baseball seems to be in pretty good hands.
The U.S. 12 and under baseball team opened its World Cup schedule on Saturday by playing New Zealand. And they did not mess around.
The U.S. team started with three runs in the first inning, then added eleven more in the second.
14-0 would be bad enough, but the third inning is where the game really got out of control. Thanks to two home runs by Bryant Ju, the U.S. team put up 20 runs in a single inning. Yeah. A 34-0 lead after three innings.

Everyone knew they were coming, but the Philadelphia Eagles’ long-awaited re-introduction of “Kelly Green” throwback uniforms did not disappoint.
The Eagles’ plan to bring back the iconic throwbacks was far from a secret. A few months back, owner Jeffrey Lurie confirmed that the jerseys would return, but didn’t provide a timeframe. Earlier this week, the team announced an unveiling date of Monday, July 31.
Obviously, that didn’t pan out.
On Friday, the team was doing their best to get people excited about the throwback threads with a series of Instagram posts.

Braves superstar Ronald Acuña Jr. has been aggressive on the base paths all season long. During the first inning of Saturday’s game against the Brewers, he made MLB history after swiping yet another base. 
Acuña picked up his 50th stolen base of the season on Saturday following a first-inning single off Julio Teheran. In doing so, he became the first player ever to record 20 or more home runs and 50 or more stolen bases before the month of August, according to ESPN Stats and Info.
