EXCLUSIVE: The home of former San Jose State University assistant volleyball coach Melissa Batie-Smoose was shot at on Monday night in Scotts Valley, California, Batie-Smoose and local police have told Fox News Digital.
Scotts Valley Police Department Captain Scott Garner told Fox News Digital that officers have determined that the weapon used was a pellet gun, and it is being investigated as an act of vandalism. The pellet has been recovered by police. Nobody was harmed and no suspect or motive has been determined. The investigation is ongoing.

F1 car launches began with Williams debuting the FW47 at Silverstone
The Formula 1 season may be weeks away, but the 2025 campaign kicked off unofficially on Friday when Williams unveiled the FW47, their challenger for this year, at Silverstone.
Drivers Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz Jr., as well as Team Principal James Vowles, were on hand for the event. The team shared the FW47 in a special one-off livery they will use at this season’s British Grand Prix.
It’s not fair to say Joe Burrow is frustrated with the Cincinnati Bengals because, for a while there, they made him the highest-paid player in the NFL and gave him a buffet of weapons so he could produce big numbers and try to get back to the Super Bowl for a second time.
