For the Houston Astros, home may be where the heart is. But not the wins.
The Astros have been the best road team in Major League Baseball this past regular season and in the postseason. They continued that Wednesday night with an 8-5 win over Texas in Arlington to cut the Rangers’ lead in the American League Championship Series to 2-1.
Houston went to 54-30 on the road this season overall and improved to an amazing 7-1 at the Rangers’ Globe Life Field.

The Astros were only 39-42 at home in the regular season and 51-30 away.

Olympic champion gymnast Mary Lou Retton suffered a “scary setback” earlier this week in her battle with a rare form of pneumonia, her daughter Shayla Kelley Schrepfer revealed Wednesday night on Instagram.
An initial report last week painted a grim picture for Retton, as she was said to be “fighting for her life” in the ICU at a Texas hospital. However, Retton made an improvement over the weekend, and things seemed to be heading in a positive direction.
But after a setback this week, the 55-year-old Retton remains in the ICU.
“We were so excited,” Schrepfer began her post.

Adidas is expanding its basketball footprint by becoming the exclusive apparel and footwear sponsor of Overtime Elite, Sports Illustrated can reveal. 
The sporting goods brand has agreed to a multi-year partnership with OTE, a basketball league based in Atlanta, Ga. that features professional and amateur 17-to-19-year-old players. Each of the league’s eight teams will be provided with new-look uniforms as part of the deal with Adidas.

Lions coach Dan Campbell addressed the media on Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s game against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
Campbell spoke about the importance of containing Jackson defensively, but ended his response with a heartfelt statement to media member Bernie Smilovitz, whose wife recently passed away.
“He’s extremely dangerous as always. That’s not changing right now, so that focal point will always start with him, especially defensively,” Campbell said.
After a brief pause, Campbell looked once again at Smilovitz.
“My heart goes out to you, man. God bless you.

Kudos to the Las Vegas Aces for winning the WNBA championship Wednesday night in Brooklyn. The team won its second consecutive league title, and A’ja Wilson shined, winning Finals MVP. 
Yet some fans were happy for Tom Brady following the Aces’ big win. Why is the retired NFL star in this conversation? Does he somehow have to be a topic in every sports discussion? This is basketball, not football.
