The Aces captured their second straight WNBA title on Wednesday night after taking down the Liberty 70–69 in Game 4 of the 2023 finals.
Las Vegas forward Alysha Clark played a crucial part in the Aces’ comeback win as her two-point basket in the third quarter tied the game at 51 after the Liberty led for the majority of the first half.
After the game, Clark was emotional, as many of the Aces players were, but the forward’s tears came from more than just the result of the game. Clark’s father, Duane, died in Sept. 2022, and the forward had dedicated the ‘23 season to him.
The Aces became the first team since 2002 to win back-to-back WNBA championships after claiming the title over the Liberty on Wednesday night.
Las Vegas downed New York in an extremely close 70–69 win in Game 4 at Barclays Center to etch the franchise’s name into history once again.
Aces center A’ja Wilson was named the WNBA finals MVP after clocking her sixth postseason double double. Wilson finished with 24 points and 16 rebounds, while Jackie Young tallied 16 points and seven assists.

Rangers center fielder Leody Taveras robbed Astros’ Yordan Alvarez of a home run during Wednesday’s ALCS Game 3, showcasing his stunning range in the outfield to bring back a ball that looked destined for the seats.
Alvarez absolutely crushed the baseball, hitting it 111.1 mph off the bat as it traveled 416 feet with a 25-degree launch angle. Somehow, Taveras was still able to commit one of the most electric postseason home run robberies in recent memory.
This hit would have been a home run in 22 of 30 major league ballparks, but Taveras found a way to snag it from over the fence.

Ohtani’s likely MVP campaign, youth, marketing possibilities and unprecedented skill set make him unquestionably the most desirable free agent in MLB history. Earlier this season, reports suggested there was an early favorite in the Ohtani sweepstakes.

But in recent months, the discussion has seemingly changed.
Super Bowl champion Chris Long has identified a problem.
The former Eagles and Rams edge rusher used the latest episode of his Green Light podcast to speak out against fans that fight at NFL games.
The issue was raised after videos spread on social media of numerous fights that broke out in the stands during Monday night’s game between the Cowboys and Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
“People are picking up the stanchions, like the metal poles that are supposed to keep you out of the hot dog line and swinging them like battle axes,” Long said.
