Michigan basketball is moving on to the second weekend of March Madness.
The Wolverines’ amazing turnaround in Year 1 under Dusty May continued with a victory over a tough Texas A&M team on Saturday.
Roddy Gayle Jr. scored 26 points coming off the bench as the Wolverines rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit to beat the Aggies by 11.
With the win over the Aggies, the Wolverines now head to Atlanta where the South region will play its Sweet 16 games beginning Friday night at State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks.

The Brooklyn Nets (23-48) were trying to reset their minds after Thursday saw them in one of the most physical games of the season against an Indiana Pacers (41-29) that they were going to see again on Saturday. After the ramifications set in from Thursday’s overtime contest, Brooklyn and Indiana were on their best behavior, but the Nets weren’t able to get their desired outcome.
The Nets lost at the Pacers on Saturday 108-103 despite Brooklyn trailing by as many as 20 points in the second half due to some poor shooting and transition defense.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Madina Okot had 14 points and 13 rebounds before fouling out late and ninth-seeded Mississippi State beat California 59-46 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.
Eniya Russell added 14 points for the Bulldogs (22-11), who are back in March Madness for the first time in two years. They lost in the national title game in 2017 and 2018.
Michelle Onyiah led the eighth-seeded Golden Bears with 17 points and 15 rebounds despite four fouls. Lulu Twidale added 13 points before fouling out in the final seconds.
