The list of artists who have received a career boost from collaborating with Taylor Swift is lengthy. On Sunday, Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo added his name to that illustrious registry.
Rizzo dominated New York’s 8–5 win over the Royals in the teams’ series finale, going 4-for-4 with a double and his first home run in 45 games.
After the victory, he credited his success in part to the fact he switched his walk-up music to “…Ready for It?”—a No. 4 hit for Swift off 2017’s Reputation.

Troubled ex-Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen was arrested Saturday for a suspected DWI.
It’s the second Vikings-related incident on the road this week and another alarming matter from Griffen.
According to Carver County Jail records, Griffen was arrested in Chanhassen, Minnesota, at 12:41 p.m.
Griffen was released shortly after his arrest.

In 2018, Griffen underwent a mental health evaluation after Minneapolis Police Department arrested the four-time Pro Bowler. Griffen threatened to shoot a person at the Hotel Ivy.

The Yankees are bringing back a familiar face ahead of the trade deadline, though he won’t be suiting up for the team on the field. New York is reportedly set to bring back franchise great starting pitcher Andy Pettitte to serve in an advisory role for the organization.
According to Bob Klapisch of NJ.com, Pettitte will be an advisor for manager Aaron Boone, suggesting there are no plans to remove pitching coach Matt Blake from his role.

The former F1 driver and current broadcaster tries to interview every celebrity on the grid and, in doing so, gave off a rude appearance while interviewing actor Terry Crews at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Crews, known for popping his pecs as the Old Spice guy (and tons of acting credits), gave a jubilant interview with Brundle. The interviewer’s abrupt exit cut off the actor.
Yes, Brundle’s a man on the move on a busy grid, but interrupting Crews came off as bad optics.

The United States gave a decent account of itself in its first World Cup in eight years in 2022, going 1-0-2 before falling to the Netherlands in the round of 16.
That would not have been possible without AC Milan attacking midfielder/winger Christian Pulisic, whose goal in the 38th minute against Iran helped push the Stars and Stripes through to the next stage. The feat was made even more remarkable by the fact that Pulisic suffered a pelvic contusion scoring the goal.

The NBA’s board of governors approved the sale of the Hornets to a group led by Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The move, expected to be completed in the next one to two weeks, will end Michael Jordan’s 13-year tenure as the team’s majority owner.
According to ESPN, the sale is for $3 billion. The franchise announced the sale on June 16 and added that Jordan will retain a minority ownership in the team.
