Golden State Warriors guard Andrew Wiggins got injured in a rather unlikely way on Thursday morning.
Just hours before his team’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Wiggins hurt the index finger on his shooting hand. It didn’t get dislocated while he was guarding an opponent, and he wasn’t lifting a crazy amount in the weight room either.
The guard jammed his finger while shutting a car door, and missed Thursday night’s game as a result. That’s about as anticlimactic as it gets.

Andrew Wiggins slammed a car door on his right index finger this morning.

We’ve made it to championship weekend. After a long season, it’s the final prize until the Playoff. Pat Forde retains his two-game lead after a week that resulted in a draw.

Good one to kick off Week 13 last night, and some monster games on the slate for the weekend. Lots to chew on …
• There was a point over the summer when Dak Prescott had thrown a bunch of training camp interceptions. My visit to Cowboys camp in Southern California was in the midst of that, and it gave me something to dive into with coach Mike McCarthy when he and I sat down for a couple of hours in his suite at the team’s hotel/makeshift facility.
As you’d expect, McCarthy defended Prescott by explaining there was a method to what was happening in late July and August.

Fresh off winning their fourth consecutive game, quarterback Dak Prescott and the 9-3 Cowboys continue to search for their respect around NFL circles.
On Friday’s episode of ESPN’s First Take, Stephen A. Smith questioned Dallas’ potential playoff success while also calling every team the surging Cowboys have beaten at home this season as “scrubs.”
“What I am pointing to is not just the road, but the level of competition that they went against on the road and the level of competition that is going to be waiting for them come playoff time,” said Smith.

No. 4 Florida State could be without anticipated starting quarterback Tate Rodemaker for Saturday night’s ACC Championship against No. 14 Louisville, a school spokesperson told ESPN’s David Hale on Friday.
Rodemaker was described as a “game-day decision.”
Rodemaker left the fourth quarter of last Saturday’s win over Florida in Gainesville after he took a shot to the head on a scramble. He returned to the game a couple of plays later to help the Seminoles finish off a touchdown drive, but has not been a full participant in practice this week.

The Bengals are in a tailspin as they head to Florida for a prime-time bout with the Jaguars, winners of seven of their last eight.
Cincinnati (5–6) lost its first game without Joe Burrow since Week 18 of 2021 to Pittsburgh on Sunday to fall further out of the playoff picture. Jacksonville (8–3) tightened its grip on the AFC South with a narrow win in Houston last week behind Trevor Lawrence’s season-high 364 passing yards.
All of the Jaguars’ losses this season have been at EverBank Stadium but they’re still favored by 8.5 points at home over the Burrow-less Bengals.
