Late-season success doesn’t always carry over to the following year. Take Devin Singletary, the RB3 from Weeks 13-18 in 2021. He followed that up with an RB23 finish in 2022. But then consider Amon-Ra St. Brown, the WR2 during those same weeks in 2021. He delivered last season with a WR6 campaign.
I wrote about both Singletary and St. Brown around this time last year as players who had gained some momentum heading into the offseason. There’s a multitude of factors that can determine whether a player can build on that when the next season comes around.
Four-star linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Sunday. However, the California-native may not have had the Irish atop his list of suitors. He pulled a Manti Te’o.
Viliamu-Asa, a Class of 2024 recruit, stands 6-foot-4, 235 pounds and plays for St. John Bosco. His presence on the second level played a huge role in the West Coast powerhouse program’s state championship last year and he is considered one of the top-15 players at his position.

The Colts and first-round pick Anthony Richardson have reportedly agreed to terms on the quarterback’s rookie contract.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Richardson’s rookie deal will be a fully-guaranteed four-year, $33.99 million deal. As an upfront signing bonus, Richardson will receive $21.72 million.
Richardson’s agent Deiric Jackson of Legacy Sports Advisors is said to have negotiated the deal.
Indianapolis selected Richardson with the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL draft out of the University of Florida.
The Texans and No. 2 pick C.J. Stroud have agreed to terms on a four-year rookie contract worth $36.3 million in total, per multiple reports. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Stroud is getting his entire $23.83 million signing bonus guaranteed and upfront, something that Houston hasn’t done in the past.
Stroud was a two-year starter at Ohio State, playing in 25 games since 2021 and totaling over 8,000 yards passing with 85 passing touchdowns and just 12 interceptions. He was a Heisman finalist in each of the last two seasons, the only eligible player to do so.
The right to vote was out in full force last week in Nashville during SEC Media Days, with Vanderbilt getting a number of votes to win the conference. Laugh all you want, but Paul Finebaum thinks those media members who voted for the Dores should not get another chance.
