So many of the world’s best female amateurs are playing well heading into the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, but no one had a better final performance leading into the event than Kendall Todd.
The senior at Arkansas shot 11-under 61 on Sunday in the final round of the Clemson Invitational at The Reserve At Lake Keowee in Sunset, South Carolina. Todd had 11 birdies in the final round, which started Saturday and finished Sunday, and moved 11 spots up the leaderboard for a solo second finish, one shot behind Ohio State’s Kary Hollenbaugh.

Each Masters winner is presented with the iconic sport coat. The honor, itself, dates back to 1949. But it was in 1937 that Augusta National Golf Club members first adorned green jackets. Made by Brooks Uniform Company in New York City, the jackets allowed members to stand out, so patrons would know whom to approach for assistance.

Lifelong friends, the LBJ relay team of Ali Scott, Tre’Awn Young-Henderson, Antoine “Sticks” Baker and Ladainian Green knows something about rounding the corners.
Such was the case Saturday on the final day of the Texas Relays. On a partly cloudy afternoon with nary a drop of rain at Myers Stadium, the Jaguars discovered gold in the 800-meter Division I relay race.
The result did not surprise Baker, who said the team’s brotherhood stems from playing sports together for more than a decade.

TORONTO (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles placed right-hander Albert Suárez on the 15-day injured list on Sunday because of shoulder inflammation.
The Orioles also brought up right-hander Matt Bowman from Triple-A Norfolk before their series finale at Toronto.
The 35-year-old Suárez pitched 2 2/3 innings on Friday in his first appearance of the season. He allowed two runs, one earned, and five hits in Baltimore’s 8-2 loss.
Suárez set career highs with 32 appearances, 24 starts and 133 2/3 innings for the Orioles last year. He finished with a 9-7 record and a 3.70 ERA.
