PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan met with R&A’s CEO Martin Slumbers at Royal Liverpool Sunday at the Open Championship.
Saudi Arabia’s PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan was a guest of a major sponsor last week at the 151st Open Championship.
He met R&A chief executive Martin Slumbers on Sunday during the final round of play, per an article from The Telegraph.
This Open Championship marked the first time since the birth of LIV Golf that Al-Rumayyan was welcomed into the inner workings of a major.

NBC Sunday Night Football analyst Cris Collinsworth has a surprising preseason pick to win the Super Bowl.
Collinsworth, in an appearance Monday on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, said his early pick is the Cincinnati Bengals after the team came up just short in each of the past two seasons. The pick, which Collinsworth himself calls “stupid” because of how much more difficult the AFC is compared to the NFC, is sure to raise eyebrows, but makes sense given how good quarterback Joe Burrow has been in the postseason.
“Joe Burrow has a chance to do it all this year,” Collinsworth said.

Late-season success doesn’t always carry over to the following year. Take Devin Singletary, the RB3 from Weeks 13-18 in 2021. He followed that up with an RB23 finish in 2022. But then consider Amon-Ra St. Brown, the WR2 during those same weeks in 2021. He delivered last season with a WR6 campaign.
I wrote about both Singletary and St. Brown around this time last year as players who had gained some momentum heading into the offseason. There’s a multitude of factors that can determine whether a player can build on that when the next season comes around.

Four-star linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Sunday. However, the California-native may not have had the Irish atop his list of suitors. He pulled a Manti Te’o.
Viliamu-Asa, a Class of 2024 recruit, stands 6-foot-4, 235 pounds and plays for St. John Bosco. His presence on the second level played a huge role in the West Coast powerhouse program’s state championship last year and he is considered one of the top-15 players at his position.

Viliamu-Asa has 23 offers from many of the top college football programs in the country.

With 40 days until the start of the 2023 college football season, ESPN’s College GameDay announced where the show will kick off the season.
The popular ESPN pregame show will head to Charlotte, N.C., for the Battle of the Carolinas on Saturday, Sept. 2. The rivalry game between UNC and South Carolina has been played since 2015. The last time the two teams faced each other was in ’21 when the Gamecocks beat the Tar Heels 38–21.

The Colts and first-round pick Anthony Richardson have reportedly agreed to terms on the quarterback’s rookie contract.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Richardson’s rookie deal will be a fully-guaranteed four-year, $33.99 million deal. As an upfront signing bonus, Richardson will receive $21.72 million.
Richardson’s agent Deiric Jackson of Legacy Sports Advisors is said to have negotiated the deal.
Indianapolis selected Richardson with the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL draft out of the University of Florida.
