Qualifying for the Daytona 500 gets underway on Wednesday night, and Helio Castroneves — the four-time Indianapolis 500 champion — is the talk of the track.
The reason, however, has less to do with how cool it’d be to have a driver of Castroneves‘ pedigree coming from outside the world of NASCAR, and more to do with what will happen if Castroneves fails to qualify for the race, because he’ll still be in the field even if he has to be added as an additional 41st car thanks to a very controversial new rule.

The United States Department of Education is opening investigations into California and Minnesota after both states openly stated they will not comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order to keep males out of women’s sports.
Last week, Trump signed an executive order to, effectively, ban males from women’s sports and locker rooms at public institutions, mostly impacting public schools, colleges and universities.

Major NFL bust Kadarius Toney was arrested last week, stemming from an incident in January where he allegedly strangulated a woman during a dispute in Georgia.
Kadarius Toney is facing one charge of aggravated assault (strangulation) and one charge of obstructing or harassing 911 emergency calls, according to TMZ.
An arrest warrant was issued for Toney, and he was officially booked on Feb. 6.
