While some sports media figures have had issues properly pronouncing the name of Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs’ rookie standout encountered a new issue Friday night against the Warriors.
The star rookie needed to change his jersey midway through the first quarter after the emerging talent took the floor wearing a jersey that spelled his name incorrectly. 
Instead of the nameplate on the back of the jersey displaying “Wembanyama,” it  incorrectly was spelled “Wembanyana” with an ‘n’ in place of the final ’m’.

During the first half of Friday’s Western Conference showdown between the Warriors and Spurs, one play stood out above the rest and had social media buzzing.
With San Antonio leading 46–41 in the second quarter, star Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama streaked toward the basket. After displaying incredible ball handling skills, the 7’4″ big-man went behind the back and lofted a shot at the rim in what had the makings of a highlight-reel play. 
But Warriors Gary Payton II came soaring in the air on the back side and swatted the shot out of bounds.

Oregon State football coach Jonathan Smith has emerged as the leading candidate for the vacant position at Michigan State, sources tell Sports Illustrated.
Smith’s Beavers finished the regular season with an 8–4 record after 31–7 loss to rival Oregon on Friday night. The Spartans (4–8) also played Friday night, losing 42–0 to Penn State in Detroit. With both regular seasons concluded, the Michigan State search is expected to move quickly from this point and could be concluded this weekend.

The long-anticipated moment has finally arrived: Arch Manning has officially made his Texas debut.
Manning, a five-star recruit and heir to his famed family’s football legacy, took the field for his first time as a Longhorn on Friday night in the third quarter of No. 7 Texas’s 57–7 win over visiting Texas Tech.
Manning failed to connect on his first two passes after taking over for starter Quinn Ewers with the Longhorns leading, 50–7. Ewers had connected on 17 of 26 pass attempts for 196 yards with one touchdown pass and one interception.
