Riding the Jameis Winston roller coaster
Football fans were treated to the full Jameis Winston Experience on Sunday.
When Derek Carr was knocked out of Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, the New Orleans Saints were forced to turn to their backup quarterback. Winston entered the game midway through the third quarter, with the Saints in a deep 27-3 hole.
Yet, thanks to a combination of factors — including a pair of touchdown passes from Winston — New Orleans had the football at midfield with time for one more throw to the end zone to perhaps tie the game.

1. So, who ordered the code red?
If you missed it over the weekend the Dallas Mavericks analyst on Bally Sports Southwest, Brian Dameris, went viral for a video in which he explained why James Harden, now on the Clippers, is a problem.
Dameris didn’t rant, he didn’t yell, he didn’t call Harden any inappropriate names. He calmly and methodically went through Harden’s ridiculous history and detailed why Harden is nothing but a headache and a joke (my words, not Dameris’s).
A handful of Arkansas bench players weren’t too concerned about Auburn beating the daylights out of them this past weekend.
The Tigers ran the Razorbacks off the field 48-10, and it was 27-3 when the teams headed to the locker room for halftime.
You’re probably thinking some serious adjustments were discussed as Sam Pittman fights to keep his job, being that his seat is scorching hot.
Well, most of the team was likely getting torn to shreds for the 24-point deficit, but multiple young players were focused on a Tom Hanks classic.

Move over Cowboys?
The phrase “America’s Team” is a moniker earned through brilliance, excellence, and recognition. Jim Harbaugh thinks that should now belong to Michigan because his team is being punished for a cheating scandal.
Jim Harbaugh just said that Michigan should be “America’s team” because it has been through adversity and criticism and the naysayers.

Michigan’s persecution complex is now larger than the state itself.
It’s been a nightmare of a season for the San Jose Sharks. After starting the year with 10 straight losses, San Jose finally got in the win column with back-to-back victories last week. But the short winning streak wasn’t the start of a turnaround. The Sharks got blown out 5–0 against the Golden Knights on Friday and lost again on Sunday against the Ducks.
So it’s clear that things aren’t going the Sharks’ way this season, but at one point in Sunday’s loss, things really weren’t going their way.
CeeDee Lamb has no problem discussing the topic of the NFL’s best wide receivers. This is primarily due to the fact that he doesn’t view it as a debate—the Cowboys star wideout believes he’s the best in the business, hands down.
Lamb’s eye-opening boast comes after he plundered the Giants for 11 receptions, 151 receiving yards and a touchdown in an emphatic 49–17 Dallas win Sunday at AT&T Stadium.
“I’m one of them ones,” Lamb said, per ESPN’s Todd Archer. “I’m the top receiver in this game, and there’s no question about it.
Evans’ drop was so bad he couldn’t even believe it.
Mike Evans was a BEAST on Sunday, finishing with six catches for 143 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers’ 20-6 win over the Titans — but he also gave us one of the worst drops of the season.

This is about as easy as you’re ever going to see for a receiver. He’s in behind everyone, no defender is remotely close, and he just muffed the whole thing.
LSU and UConn, the top two teams in the country, both lost in the first week and sparked a shuffle in the rankings. Yahoo Sports’ Cassandra Negley put Iowa at No.
You can sit around and laugh as the Aggies’ latest gamut — hiring, and then extending, Jimbo Fisher to massive contracts — but it’s possible no program tries harder in the nation.
Rory McIlroy could only stay quiet for so long. He finally shared his full version of the story about the Patrick Cantlay and Joe LaCava drama that spilled over into the parking lot at the Ryder Cup. The beef appears to be squashed, but McIlroy has made it abundantly clear that he is not a fan of Cantlay.
While McIlroy’s tell-all about the Ryder Cup deserves plenty of attention, what Camilo Villegas was able to accomplish in Bermuda this week on the PGA Tour should be tabbed as the golf story of 2023.
