SMU’s Will Benton made those who played the unsung position of long snapper celebrate on Saturday after scoring what may be the unlikeliest touchdown of the entire 2023 college football season.
With the Mustangs leading 28–7 in the second quarter against Navy, SMU punted the ball to the Midshipmen. Navy returner Amin Hassan muffed the punt allowing the ball to roll into the end zone.
Following a brief scramble for the ball, Benton came away with the ball inside the end zone for a SMU touchdown.

Michigan State football has broken with tradition.
And that just doesn’t happen much in East Lansing.

Until Saturday afternoon, that is.
Michigan State has hired a rising, young, California boy who was Oregon State’s head coach – 44-year-old Jonathan Smith from the Los Angeles area.

Facing a fourth-and-2 at the Michigan 34-yard line with over 30 seconds left on the clock and a timeout in his pocket, Day opted to run the clock down and kick the field goal, a decision that left Ohio State fans furious.
Buckeyes fans simply could not believe how conservative Day played the situation.
