Annika Sorenstam struggled over her two rounds at Pebble Beach, a far cry from her dominant performances throughout her illustrious career.
“The course kicked my booty,” Sorenstam said after her 7-over round of 79 on Friday.
The Swede shot an 8-over 80 in her opening round on Thursday, thus missing the cut by nine strokes at the U.S. Women’s Open in what will likely be her last major championship.

Veteran guard Patty Mills has one of the most favorable contracts in the league for trades, and he’s finding that out the hard way this offseason.
The Thunder, who just acquired Mills from Houston, will send Mills to Atlanta in exchange for veteran forward Rudy Gay, guard TyTy Washington, big man Usman Garuba and a second-round pick, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Per Wojnarowski, it’s no guarantee that Mills remains in Atlanta either. His $6.8 million expiring contract has had value in trades all offseason, and that is expected to continue.

U.S. Women’s National Team player Megan Rapinoe announced her plans to retire from soccer in the coming months.
Rapinoe made the announcement on her personal Twitter account, saying “It is with a deep sense of peace & gratitude that I have decided this will be my final season playing this beautiful game. I never could have imagined the ways in which soccer would shape & change my life forever, but by the look on this little girl’s face, she knew all along.”

Fifth set tiebreaker at Wimbledon seems like a good time to get a little crazy, right?
That’s what Alejando Davidovich Fokina thought when he elected to try an underhanded serve against Denmark’s Holger Rune in Saturday’s third-round match in London.
With the fifth set tiebreaker all square at 8–8, Davidovich Fokina’s underhand serve was smashed in a return by Rune, which set up a match point. Rune would take the tiebreak 10–8 and ultimately advance to the Round of 16, 6–3, 4–6, 3–6, 6–4, 7–6 (10–8).

Former Browns and Giants head coach Pat Shurmur will join Deion Sanders’s coaching staff at Colorado as an offensive analyst.
The news was first reported by Carl Reed Jr. of 247Sports. Shurmur brings more than 20 years of NFL experience to Sanders’s staff. Mike Klis of KUSA-TV in Denver reported that Shurmur came to CU’s campus on Friday to finalize the deal to join Sanders’s staff before flying back home to New Jersey that evening.
Shurmur is no stranger to Colorado as he previously served as the offensive coordinator for the NFL’s Broncos from 2020-22.
