Drake is so happy to get Dick that he’s making memes.
The Raptors selected Gradey Dick with the No. 13 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and it was a great pick for two key reasons: Firstly, because he’s a plug-and-play shooter the team needs, and secondly because his name is Dick.
This second part is vital, because Raptors superfan Drake is already out here making memes.
This is the first of the Canadian meme economy based on Gradey Dick. Drake is setting the bar for Dick jokes early in Gradey’s career.
Myles Garrett does not care who you are, he is not slowing down. The 27-year-old defensive end showed no mercy at his Youth Camp this week.
Garrett, entering his seventh year with the Cleveland Browns, held his second-annual Football ProCamp on Tuesday and Wednesday in Gates Mills, Ohio. It is open to boys and girls from grades 1 to 8.

There are dozens of questions still to be answered about the planned merger between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), and LIV Golf. The biggest question involving the PGA Tour and LIV has always been the same, however, which is whether or not LIV players will be allowed back on the Tour if the Saudi-backed circuit were to fold.
Even after the announcement of the merger, we still don’t have the answer to that question, but Dustin Johnson doesn’t seem to care how that entire situation may shake out.
J.J. Watt’s dream of crushing beers during his commencement speech was ruined by the University of Wisconsin administration.
Watt gave the commencement speech at the University of Wisconsin back in 2019 years after being a dominant force on the football field for the Badgers.
While it was a solid speech, Watt had a much better original plan:
Give every student in attendance a free Spotted Cow beer.
Wisconsin officials stopped J.J. Watt from handing out free beer when he gave the school’s commencement speech.
The point of a pitch-out in baseball is to predict a potential base stealer and throw him out. The Cleveland Guardians managed to execute on both points during their game on Tuesday night. But if not for the heroic effort of catcher Bo Naylor, the second part had no chance.
Guardians pitcher Trevor Stephan entered a scoreless game in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Kansas City Royals. On the first pitch he threw, Royals hitter Edward Olivares smacked a double.
Kansas City entered a pinch-runner for Olivares, Dairon Blanco, who promptly stole third.
Bronny James has not even begun his first season at USC yet, but that hasn’t stopped NBA analysts from creating mock drafts speculating where LeBron James’s son could be picked should he enter the NBA draft a year from now.
ESPN has Bronny mocked to the Hawks with the No. 17 pick in the 2024 draft. After the Worldwide Leader shared the mock draft to its Instagram story, LeBron jumped in on the action.
“Wellllll ATL shawty the #JamesGang will be pulling up,” he posted with crying laughing emojis.

Bradley, who is from New England, loves the Patriots and Tom Brady. He also has a great connection with the seven-time Super Bowl Champion.
Keegan Bradley is as New England as you can possibly get.
He celebrates victories with Sam Adams, roots for the Boston Red Sox, and, not surprisingly, loves Tom Brady.
Bo Naylor’s 360-degree spin throw is the coolest way to catch someone stealing
The Kansas City Royals hosted the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night, and the game was scoreless until the bottom of the eighth inning. That’s when Kansas City infielder Kicky Lopez came to the plate with Dairon Blanco on third base, and just one out.
Lopez chopped a slow roller right back to pitcher Trevor Stephan, who corralled the grounder and looked home, as Blanco had gone halfway down the first-base line.
Stephan’s throw was, well, a little off-target:
Juuuust a bit outside.
Welcome to the 14th installment of a weekly mailbag that I will be writing about the world of sports media (and anything else you want to chime in on). Please email me any questions you have to Jimmy.Traina@si.com or send them via Twitter.
We start this week with an email question.
Jimmy, huge fan of your writing and podcast. As someone who follows sports media closely, you are the best source of information. My question for you is regarding the MLB All-Star Game and HR Derby.
