Bryce Harper, Phillies
Bryce Harper has gone 32 days and 25 games without a home run. Eighteen of his 22 hits in that span have been singles.
The good news? The Phillies are 16–9 in Harper’s home run drought, and his on-base percentage during it is .354, as pitchers continue to fear what he can do with fastballs and he finds ways to help Philadelphia win games.
The bad news? Coming off surgery on his lead elbow, Harper has yet to regain the extension and launch in his swing. His pull-side power has gone missing. Harper’s launch angle has dropped to a career-low 7.

The Guardians scored two runs in the ninth inning Tuesday night to beat the Royals, 2–1, but that rally might not have happened if not for an incredible play made by catcher Bo Naylor in the bottom of the eighth inning.
In case you missed it, Naylor had called for a pitchout with a runner on first base. Cleveland pitcher Trevor Stephan either didn’t see that call or he just made a really bad pitch because he came very close to throwing the ball completely away.
Chris Paul is ready to let bygones be bygones following the trade which sent him to the Warriors. And from the sound of it, he’s ready to join Golden State’s ‘big three,’ not replace a member of it.
During Fanatics’ “Merch Madness” event, Paul spoke to TMZ Sports and was asked about Draymond Green, who’s now an unrestricted free agent, and whether he wants the 33-year-old forward to re-sign with the team. Paul gave a quick and emphatic response.
“Absolutely,” Paul told TMZ Sports when asked whether he wanted Draymond Green back on the Warriors.
Towards the end of last season, everyone knew the writing was on the wall that this would be Derek Carr’s final year with the Raiders. Then, Las Vegas benched him for the final two games of the season and his future away from the franchise became inevitable.
Carr has admitted that he wanted to remain a Raider, but after the way the franchise handled things a year ago, he too realized that he’d be looking for a new home sooner rather than later.
Derek Carr knew he was done with the Raiders when the team made his wife cry.
Following the Trail Blazers’ decision to keep the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NBA draft, all signs began pointing to Damian Lillard’s days in Portland likely being numbered.
Then, following a meeting between Lillard and Blazers general manager Joe Cronin, things became even more confusing. Cronin issued a statement that the two had a “great dialogue,” per The Oregonian’s Bill Oram, and Brian Windhorst said the 32-year-old guard “absolutely did not” request a trade on ESPN’s Get Up.
Let’s take the over today as the Astros visit the Cardinals in St. Louis. Games at Busch Stadium are averaging 10.4 runs this season. Even with two sluggish offenses there is reason to believe the game total will exceed the 8.5 line on SI Sportsbook.
Only one pitcher in the MLB this season (Oakland’s J.P. Sears) has a higher fly ball rate than Cristian Javier’s 54.1%. Javier has still been able to control his ERA due to a good chase rate, but his 3.25 ERA is considerably lower than his 4.25 xERA, according to Statcast. The Cardinals have the 11th-best fly ball rate (26.

Shohei Ohtani is the coolest baseball player ever and if you need more proof of that then just look at what he did Tuesday night against the White Sox—Ohtani struck out 10 batters while picking up the win on the mound and he also hit two home runs in the Angels’ 4-2 victory.
His first homer came in the bottom of the first when he hit a 418-foot blast into the seats in right field. That was his league-leading 27th home run of the year and it was an absolute no-doubter.
Ohtani’s celebration after it was pretty impressive, too.
The NHL announced that it has an “ignorance” problem and must be solved by forming an inclusivity coalition to reinforce support for minority and LGBT communities by the players.

Can Justin Jefferson lead the NFL in receiving yards again? Without question. In fact, a 2,000-yard season isn’t unreasonable to expect from a guy who’ll be 24, is already the league’s best receiver and has the drive to get better.
