The Arizona Diamondbacks are headed to the World Series for the first time since 2001, and the Philadelphia Phillies, well, they’re not. Diamondbacks pitcher Zac Gallen was more than happy to remind the team’s fans of this on X after Game 7 of the NLCS.
After the Diamondbacks clinched the National League pennant — on the road in a series during which they looked dead in the water at multiple points — you can understand why a celebration was in order.
Gallen posted a simple GIF to X that featured 50 Cent driving away.

Cowboys star Micah Parsons stayed true to his thoughts about the media’s treatment of his team with reporters during a Wednesday news conference.
Prior to the Cowboys bye week, Parsons blasted the media for its coverage of quarterback Dak Prescott and the team following Dallas’s 20-17 win on the road against the Chargers. The All-Pro edge rusher said his team receives more criticism from the media than the other teams in the NFC East.

The NBA announced that this year’s All-Star Game will feature an Eastern Conference vs. Western Conference format, a return to the original format after years of trying alternative options.
In 2018, the NBA first moved away from East vs. West, opting instead for an All-Star draft featuring captains. The top two vote-getters drafted the rest of their teams in a televised draft instead of separating teams by region.

There are few things scarier in hockey than watching someone take a skate blade straight to the face, and that’s precisely what happened to Boston Bruins center Jakob Lauko on Tuesday night.
Fortunately, he’s alright, and apparently, his sense of humor is as well.
Lauko and the Bruins were in Chicago for their second meeting of the season with Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks (Quick aside: the Blackhawks‘ schedule has been laughably brutal to start the year. In the first ten games they’ve got the Bruins and Golden Knights twice, plus one against the Avalanche. Yikes).

It was Wednesday morning, not even 12 hours after the Diamondbacks won the National League pennant to earn a World Series matchup against the Rangers, when Princeton baseball coach Scott Bradley’s phone buzzed. It was a group text. The senders were Mike Hazen and Chris Young, two of his former players and the general managers of the D-Backs and Rangers, respectively.
“Coach, we want you here,” the text said. “Whatever games you can make, we’ll make it happen.

Rams head coach Sean McVay’s prediction that his son would not be born on a Sunday turned out to be spot on.

McVay said he would miss a game to be there for the birth of his son, but maintained that he would not have to, because his son “knows better than to come during a game.
