Former All-NBA guard Vince Carter appears to have found a new television home.
Carter will analyze “a small package” of Nets games for YES Network, according to a Tuesday morning report from Andrew Marchand of The New York Post.
The 46-year-old Carter, an eight-time NBA All-Star during his career, played for New Jersey from 2005-09.
Following the end of his playing career in 2020, he joined ESPN as an NBA and college basketball analyst; however, ESPN reportedly opted not to renew his contract ahead of the 2024 season.

Sports radio legend Chris “Mad Dog” Russo has always captivated his audience with his bombastic personality and grandioso proclamations.
His latest take on his Monday afternoon radio show on SiriusXM may be one of his best to date. This time, it was about the Diamondbacks, who faced a 3–2 NLCS deficit on Monday before forcing a Game 7 with a win against the Phillies later that night.
“I’ve been wrong on Arizona from day one,” Russo said on SiriusXM radio on Monday. “I would not be stunned if they won tonight [Game 6], I would be floored.

Game 7 of the ALCS on Monday night in Houston was a snoozer, especially for Astros fans. The Rangers got out to an immediate 3–0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to an 11–4 victory to clinch their third pennant in franchise history.
The Astros kept it close for a little while, but the game started to get out of hand when Texas’s four-run fourth made it 8–2. Nathaniel Lowe’s two-run homer in the sixth really put the game out of reach, at which point many Houston fans decided they’d seen enough.

Shannon Sharpe doubled down on his controversial Brock Purdy take after the 49ers QB took a second consecutive loss Monday night against the Vikings.
Sharpe had been questioned by some earlier this season after he deemed Purdy not an elite quarterback. But less-than-stellar performances in a pair of recent losses to the Browns and now Vikings give credence to Sharpe’s stance, and the First Take co-host isn’t backing down.
“I knew what he was to begin with,” Sharpe said. “When we had this conversation three weeks ago, I was trending because I said Brock Purdy wasn’t elite.

The Philadelphia Phillies are playing their first Game 7 of their 140-year existence tonight… and tickets aren’t that expensive.
Right now, if you go to StubHub, a Standing Room Only ticket is going for anywhere from $225-$250. 400 Level seats are in that $250-$300 range as well. I expect these to be sold VERY soon so if you’re reading this and are hesitant about going to the game – listen to Gunzy and go and purchase a ticket NOW.
By comparison, a single Philadelphia Eagles Standing Room Only ticket with the Cowboys coming to town in two weekends is going for nearly $400.

Gene Steratore, CBS’s go-to football rules analyst, is a man for all seasons. From 2003-17, the Uniontown, Pa. native was one of the NFL’s most recognizable referees — while also working contemporaneously as a college basketball official for over two decades.
However, as any sports fan or official knows, even the most experienced adjudicators get a call wrong now and again. Steratore did so during the Broncos‘ 19-17 win over the Packers on Sunday, and jumped on social media to own up to his mistake.

Back in late 2020, when the prospect of Giannis Antetokounmpo passing on a five-year, $228 million supermax extension was still a concern in Milwaukee, the Bucks felt compelled to convince their superstar there was no need to eventually test the free-agent market.
With the club still in search of a title despite coming off back-to-back seasons in which it had the NBA’s best record and consecutive years in which Antetokounmpo had won the league’s MVP award, general manager Jon Horst took an aggressive approach.

Not since Drake’s habit of mushing teams he bets on or cheers for has a musician or band affected sports the way that post-grunge icons Creed have in recent weeks.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Scott Stapp and Co. have been front and center in the sports world, and it looks like they worked their musical magic for the Minnesota Vikings.
That’s the second time this month.
Earlier this month, Kirk Cousins cited Creed as a driving force behind the team’s win over the Chicago Bears.

The Texas Rangers peppered home runs into the Minute Maid Park bleachers throughout Games 6 and 7 of the ALCS, helping overcome a 3–2 series deficit in improbable fashion to clinch a trip to the World Series. But one homer in particular really caught fans’ attention because of one fan’s reaction (or lack thereof) to the ball landing inches from her face.
Jonah Heim’s two-run blast in the fourth inning of Game 6 barely cleared the wall in right field, flying just above the outstretched glove of Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker to give the Rangers a 3–1 lead.
