After much speculation, the Hornets took Brandon Miller with the second pick of the draft, pairing the former Alabama forward with LaMelo Ball. Charlotte could have taken guard Scoot Henderson, but seemed to believe that Miller fit better with Ball.
While speaking with the media, Miller gave his thoughts on his new teammate, saying that he and Ball already connected at his workout.
“LaMelo, man, that’s definitely one of the guys. He made me feel like a little brother away from home,” Miller said, via Alex Kennedy. “I feel like we’re always going to be together.

The Trail Blazers selected point guard Scoot Henderson with the No. 3 pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, and on the heels of that selection, it does not appear there is any more clarity on the future of star Damian Lillard.
Lillard, who made it known to Portland brass that he didn’t want to be a part of a rebuild, has not formally requested a trade. In fact, he has not had any recent communication with members of the Trail Blazers front office involving the draft, free agency or his future, according to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.

The world’s number one, Scottie Scheffler, was happy with the flat stick after his opening round 63 at the Travelers Championship.
Scottie Scheffler, the number one ranked golfer in the world, posted a 7-under 63 Thursday for his opening round at the Travelers Championship. That was good enough for solo 4th, three shots behind Denny McCarthy.
After his round, Scheffler talked about what went well, as well as what did not. His answer was somewhat surprising considering his recent play.

As soon as rumors began to swirl that the Minnesota Vikings may cut Dalvin Cook, the running back was immediately linked to the Miami Dolphins. Now, two weeks after being released, the 27-year-old is adding more fuel to the Dolphins talk by sharing his interest in joining Miami this season.
Speaking on Sirius XM NFL Radio on Thursday, Cook described the Dolphins as a “perfect fit” from a scheme perspective.
“As a running back, you look for a certain scheme, and I know the scheme that I’m good in,” Cook said, “That’s outside zone, and that’s what the Miami Dolphins run.

Week 13 is already approaching! Time flies when you are having fun.
Three rookies make the waiver wire list again this week. One is a catcher who has become the DH in Houston and could also grab first base eligibility as the season rolls on. Another is a top pitching prospect for Cleveland who will likely stick around a while with news of Triston McKenzie being shut down again for a minimum of six weeks. And finally, it’s hard not to see the flashy strikeout upside for Bryan Woo, despite the rough ERA stats on the surface.
