Jimmy Butler is gone but certainly not forgotten in the eyes of Timberwolves fans. And when the Heat traveled to Minnesota on Saturday night, a game in which Butler sat out due to rest on the second half of a back-to-back, the fans made sure to let their former star hear it during the 106-90 victory.
With around two minutes remaining in the game, fans began to chant “Where is Jimmy” at Butler, who was seated on the bench in street clothes.
ARLINGTON, Texas — You know the story is going to be a good one when the teller of the tale begins, “It’s a real story. It’s true.”
The spinner of the yarn was Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo. The subject was Arizona pitcher Merrill Kelly, who had just put on such an exquisite exhibition of pinpoint pitching Saturday night that there are only six other games like it in the history of the World Series. Deion Sanders didn’t hold back Saturday night after UCLA beat Colorado.
The Buffaloes fell to the Bruins 28-16, and Shedeur Sanders spent the night running for his life and getting banged up. He was sacked seven times, hit 17 other times, knocked down 13 times (via ESPN) and was under constant pressure as Colorado’s line simply couldn’t protect him.
The talented dual-threat was picked up on the broadcast sitting on the bench looking about as miserable as you’ll ever see a football player look.
Man this is heartbreaking. Shedeur Sanders deserves better than this: pic.twitter.
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Snakes are indeed alive. The Diamondbacks bounced back from their wrenching Game 1 loss in the World Series with a 9–1 victory over the Rangers in Game 2.
The series will now head to Phoenix split. Max Scherzer is expected to start Game 3 for the Rangers and rookie Brandon Pfaadt will go for the Diamondbacks. Here’s a rundown of what to watch for on Monday.
What Will the Rangers See From Scherzer?
Scherzer has now made two starts since missing more than a month with a strained muscle in his shoulder.
For the second straight start in the season’s most crucial stretch, Merrill Kelly was at his best. For the second straight start, he forced Rangers hitters and his own manager to make decisions.
Merrill Kelly pitched three-hit ball, striking out nine and allowing just one run in a 9-1 win over the Rangers as the Diamondbacks evened the World Series at 1-1 on Saturday night.
