Austin Simmons, a four-star QB who was committed to Florida for 2025, threw the college football world a curveball Saturday morning. Not only is Simmons — who is also an elite baseball player — flipping to Ole Miss, he also reclassified to 2023 and will join the Rebels this year.
Yes, your math is correct. A 17-year-old slated to be a junior in high school this fall will now be competing with the likes of Jaxson Dart and Spencer Sanders to be QB1 for Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels.

Lose a recruit to Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin at your own risk.
On Saturday morning, news emerged that Florida quarterback recruit Austin Simmons had flipped his commitment to the Rebels—reclassifying from the class of 2025 to the class of ’23 accordingly.
It was a loss for the Gators and a substantial get for Kiffin and Ole Miss on the heels of an 8-5 season. However, more importantly, it provided Kiffin a chance to clown Florida on Twitter.

Beal is entering year two of a five-year, $251 million contract extension, and has a full no-trade clause that allows him full control over where he goes.
Bob Huggins has let down many people over the past six weeks. But the first person he let down was the man he sees in the mirror every day, failing to comport himself with the level of accountability he has demanded from his players.
There is no joy in seeing someone immolate a Hall of Fame career the way Huggins has, but there also is no need to equivocate over what should happen next. Huggins narrowly kept his job as men’s basketball coach at West Virginia last month. This month, after another act of self-sabotage, it’s time for him to go.
West Virginia coach Bob Huggins was arrested in Pittsburgh on a charge of driving under the influence, with police saying his blood alcohol content was 0.21% in a breath test.
