As the Nuggets celebrate their first NBA title, LeBron James has still been relevant, at least to Denver coach Michael Malone.
In a Wednesday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Malone appeared to poke fun at the Lakers’ star when he attempted to depict James’s consideration to retire from the NBA after the Nuggets’ sweep of the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.
“Speaking of the Lakers, I just want you guys to know this is breaking news—I’m thinking about retiring. Only kidding, only kidding,” Malone said on the show.

New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones is reportedly facing charges after he reportedly tried to bring two guns onto an airplane.
According to Boston 25 news, Jones was arrested at Boston’s Logan International Airport on Friday evening.
Security found two firearms in Jones’ carry-on beg which led to them calling Massachusetts State Troopers to the scene.
According to police, Jones is facing a slew of charges. Seriously, this is a veritable laundry list.

Brittney Griner will reportedly board charter flights for the remainder of the Mercury’s away games this season after she and her teammates dealt with “inappropriate and unfortunate” actions on Saturday at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, according to ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss.
The changes to Griner’s travel arrangements come after the league previously stated it had approved charter flights for the eight-time All-Star this season, according to The Athletic. However, ESPN reported that the WNBA had pre-approved Griner for only two charter flights.

Red Sox starting pitcher Tanner Houck prematurely exited against the Yankees after taking a line drive to his face in a scary scene mid-way through Friday’s contest at Fenway Park.
Houck, making his 13th start of the season, was in the midst of a solid outing as Yankees catcher Kyle Higashioka approached the plate to start the fifth inning.
Higashioka made contact with a 92 mph sinker from Houck on his fourth pitch, sending the ball flying back into the right-hander’s face at a reported exit velocity of 89.7 mph.

With Aaron Judge still sidelined by a right big toe injury, Yankees manager Aaron Boone offered a hesitant update Friday regarding the reigning AL MVP’s return to action.
New York has been without Judge for nearly two weeks since placing him on the injured list on June 6, three days after he injured his toe following a collision with the outfield fence during a road matchup against the Dodgers.
