While appearing on The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone, Towns was asked where he thought he fit in with big men in today’s NBA. His answer was confident to say the least. 
“I feel like when my time’s up, and I retire and I put the shoes up . . . I feel like there’s people that’s gonna say that I changed the game,” Towns said. “And I’m gonna be very appreciative of that.

PGA Tour players who did not leave for LIV Golf will reportedly receive financial compensation beyond equity in the new company.
It’s the first day of the 123rd U.S. Open, behind held at the prestigious Los Angeles Country Club. Typically, the beginning of the U.S. Open is story enough to capture the golf world. But the groundbreaking news last week of the PGA Tour making a deal with the Saudi’s Public Investment Fund has brought the world’s attention to the sport.

When Mike Breen is at a sporting event, he’s usually got the best seat in the house—but not on Wednesday night in Queens. 
As ESPN’s lead NBA play-by-play broadcaster (just don’t call him “the voice of the NBA”), Breen is used to sitting as close to the action as possible, with nothing to distract him from the action but the occasional bickering between Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy. 
Breen, fresh off calling the NBA Finals, was at Citi Field on Wednesday for the Subway Series and didn’t have the greatest seat.

While the NBA world awaits Adam Silver’s decision on Ja Morant’s punishment, Kendrick Perkins made a surprising suggestion to help turn around the troubled star’s career.
Perkins believes Morant, who has been suspended indefinitely by the Grizzlies after flashing a firearm on Instagram for the second time, would benefit most from a change of scenery and a trade out of Memphis. Perkins’s ideal destination for the the troubled star raised plenty of eyebrows though, as he suggested that the Heat would be the best organizational fit for Morant.

Longtime WFAN media personality Craig Carton is leaving the station for a lucrative contract with FS1, according to a report from Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.
The contract for Carton at FS1 will pay him seven figures, sources told Marchand.
The 54-year-old Carton returned to WFAN in 2020 after serving more than a year in prison starting in June ’19, following a conviction for fraud charges stemming from a fake ticket scam. Carton left the station following his arrest in Sept. ’17, after cohosting Boomer and Carton for more than a decade.
