When it rains, it pours for USC and Lincoln Riley.
The Trojans have suffered back-to-back losses to Utah and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and the latter came in blowout fashion.
USC’s season started out with a ton of success and momentum, and has since collapsed in absolutely humiliating fashion.
Now, Riley is out with an unknown illness.

The school president got ready with the Vikings to take on Eastern Washington this week.
One thing that makes college football so enjoyable is the participation from people you normally wouldn’t expect it from. College sports are ingrained within an entire city’s framework; it becomes as much of a part of a city’s identity as anything else. When a team gets participation from the community, especially on the campus they have to live and go to class on, it makes the entire environment much better.
A perfect example of this happened at Portland State.

Following the Diamondbacks‘ stunning Game 7 victory over the Phillies in the NLCS, a nation of sports talk radio and TV fans waited to see if Chris “Mad Dog” Russo would follow through on his pledge to retire if Arizona won the series.
On Wednesday morning, Russo appeared on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show to answer for his bold proclamation and to renegotiate the terms of his wager. 
Initially, Stern had a far more crude proposal for Russo in place of retiring.

Charles Barkley had some harsh words for Lakers star Anthony Davis after an underwhelming season debut against the Nuggets.
Davis tallied just 17 points and eight rebounds on 17 shots in Tuesday’s loss and was held scoreless in the second half, making it impossible for the Lakers to make a sustained push to get back in the game. 
Afterwards, Barkley was critical of Davis for not living up to the lofty hype that has surrounded him for years.

Davis did not score in the second half against Denver on Tuesday.
