Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen seems unsure of himself now. He’s not unsure he can still be one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks. That’s not it.
But he does seem unsure about how to go about it. He seems, well, lost as he searches for the right approach to take to be his past elite self.
That was the message I got after listening to Allen speak with reporters Tuesday afternoon.
But don’t take my word for it. Judge for yourself because his words spoke volumes.

Hamlin has five wins at the half-mile track.
The Heisman has typically been a quarterback award, but Marvin Harrison has carried Ohio State’s offense to a 7-0 start.
It’s funny seeing how many football pundits were quick to praise Lamar Jackson and the Ravens for their dominant performance vs. the Lions without saying how wrong they were about them.
I’ll admit it. I didn’t give the Ravens’ new-look offense enough time to put it together and was critical of Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Monken, especially after the offensive dud in the 17–10 loss to the Steelers in Week 5.
They had been inconsistent the first six weeks of the season, but it finally came together in Week 7 against Detroit.
Hey, everyone. Let’s get right to the questions
Jon,
I consider myself a pretty hardcore tennis fan. I remember where I was when Sampras puked in the flower pots; the score from Stan’s French Open win over Djoker is my PIN. But I have to confess that aside from about 27 minutes of Laver Cup, I haven’t watched any tennis since the U.S. Open ended. And this isn’t unusual for me. Part of it is that the late-season tournaments are often indoors and the court is painted weird colors, but also the tournaments seem inconsequential since they’re not building up to a major.
This was a good week for one AFC star quarterback. Not so much for another.
And in the NFC East, we watched the Giants more than double their season-long sacks total, largely because the Commanders showed up for a seventh straight week without a functioning offensive line.
Below, we’ll look at why the Ravens are rolling with Lamar Jackson, the Bills are struggling in part because of Josh Allen, and how Washington might give up 100 sacks this season.
LeBron is always here to help.
LeBron James has one of the greatest basketball minds of all-time. On the brink of his 39th birthday, James is now the oldest player in the NBA and also still one of the best. LeBron might not be able to dial up his absolute best physical performance every night anymore, but he’s still always thinking the game at a high level.
When James dispenses advice on the court, you should listen.
The Diamondbacks continued their astonishing postseason run Tuesday night with a 4–2 win over the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Game 7 of the NLCS. Arizona will face the Rangers in the World Series beginning Friday.
If the D-Backs’ victory wasn’t surprising enough, their bold postgame celebration stunned many fans. Outfielder Alek Thomas punctuated the win by planting a National League Champions flag into the infield grass. That’s a provocative move usually seen in football games.
The NBA is back. And so is the best studio show in all of sports—Inside the NBA on TNT.
The great Charles Barkley was in midseason form during Tuesday night’s season openers showcasing the Lakers–Nuggets and Suns–Warriors. He had a sweet moment with Denver’s Nikola Jokic when he told the NBA Finals MVP in Serbian that he loved him.
Barkley also called the Warriors ‘cooked’ after just two quarters of the 2023-24 season. And he had a really funny line after an older fan was shown during highlights of Golden State’s loss to Phoenix.
Patrick Reed filed a total of 55 defamation claims in lawsuits totaling approximately $750 million shortly after leaving the PGA Tour and joining LIV Golf. Each of the lawsuits were dismissed in late September, but the former Masters champion doesn’t appear to be going down without a fight.
Reed and his legal team have now taken aim at the judge who dismissed the claims and is seeking that he be recused.
Among the notable names included in the now tossed-aside lawsuits included golf media members Brandel Chamblee, Shane Bacon, Shane Ryan, Damon Hack, and Eamon Lynch, among others.
