The new-look Warriors are still trying to figure out the best way to deploy a lineup with three talented guards in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Chris Paul. And as much as coach Steve Kerr appears to appreciate Paul, the team’s major offseason addition, attempting to “fit in,” he also wishes the former Suns guard would do a bit less of it at times.
When speaking to reporters about the topic, Kerr was candid on the advice he gave to Paul, as The Athletic’s Anthony Slater shared.
“I told him we need him to be himself. He’s trying to fit in.

Steph Curry had the perfect one-liner after nailing the game-winning 3-pointer in the Warriors’ preseason victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Dan Wetzel and Ross Dellenger report the NCAA is investigating the Wolverines for allegedly violating rules related to sign stealing.
Former NBA player Raymond Felton looks much different since retiring.
Felton was a superstar for the UNC Tar Heels during his days in college and had an incredibly successful NBA career that lasted from 2005 through 2019.

There’s no question he was an unbelievably talented basketball player. However, you wouldn’t know he was a former superstar and NCAA champion by what he looks like these days.
Victor Wembanyama has only played three preseason games in a Spurs uniform but he’s already provided more than his share of highlights.
Wembanyama’s unique combination of size and skills makes him the most anticipated NBA prospect since LeBron James. Those are lofty expectations, but if his performance in these early exhibition games is any indication, he’ll at least give fans plenty to gawk at.
In Wednesday’s game against the Rockets, Wembanyama made a couple of incredible plays.
Jordan Poole is already freezing out Wizards teammates and making them so mad.
The Washington Wizards might be one of the funniest teams we ever see this year. Composed of nothing but #bucketgetters, this team is going to be built off of contested jumpers and vibes, nothing more.
Apparently Wizards forward Deni Avdija was not one with the vibes, especially with newly acquired Wizards guard Jordan Poole. Poole was on a heater in the Wizards 131-106 preseason victory, scoring 41 points in three quarters.
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is no stranger to jokes at his expense on his show, First Take.
Smith attended Game 4 of the WNBA Finals on Wednesday night at Barclays Center, where the Aces clinched their second consecutive title with a 70–69 victory over the Liberty.
But it wasn’t Smith’s presence at the game that caught his co-hosts’ attention. Instead, it was what he elected to wear to the game.
“Lookin’ like an extra from 21 Jump Street,” Kimberley Martin said with a smile on Thursday morning.
“We saw you,” Dan Orlovsky added.
“We saw that fit,” Martin chimed in again.
Wednesday night’s WNBA Finals game between the Aces and the Liberty was one of the most significant games in recent memory for the league. Its dramatic finish was also very nearly marred by some rough technical issues for broadcast partner ESPN.
With 20 seconds left in the game, Las Vegas took a timeout during an offensive possession, up by one point on New York, 70–69.
Fresh off swiping fries, burgers, and chicken nuggets from Patrick Mahomes in a recent State Farm commercial, Chiefs coach Andy Reid is breaking out on his own with a new ad campaign that makes a nod to the past.
Snickers is featuring the two-time Super Bowl champion in a spot in which an end zone is being painted and Reid comes in at the end to point out that a big mistake has been made.
“Hey, that’s great,” Reid says to the groundskeeper, putting an arm around him.
1. The Ringer’s Bill Simmons made his first appearance on SI Media With Jimmy Traina this week.
The sports media powerhouse gave us insight into his successful career while also opining on some sports media topics during the 90-minute conversation.
Some of the highlights included Simmons’s response when I asked him how he remembers his time at ESPN.

Here’s why Simmons isn’t convinced Tom Brady will join Fox next season as its lead NFL analyst.
