The NBA regular season has yet to start, but Andre Drummond may already have the worst dunk attempt of the year.
During a preseason game against the Raptors on Tuesday, the Bulls center made a great play on defense in the fourth quarter when he picked off a pass on the perimeter for a clean fast break. There was nothing in between Drummond and a wide open dunk . . . except for maybe some rust.
Instead of taking an easy dunk or layup, Drummond elevated far from the basket for a monster tomahawk jam but fell several inches short in embarrassing fashion.

The Saints will host the Jaguars for Thursday Night Football. The oddsmakers at SI Sportsbook list the Saints as slight 1.5 point favorites and the 39.5 game total is one of the lowest of the week, and with doubts about the health of Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence, it’s important to be selective with player props. When looking at the current market, I am leaning toward the under on most receiving and rushing props. Both defenses are in the top half of the league, with the Saints being the better unit. Jacksonville has the higher-scoring offense for the season.

Here are the teams that should be aggressive ahead of the Halloween trade deadline
For years, the NFL trade deadline has been something of a quiet affair. But that changed in a big way a season ago. On deadline day a year ago 10 trades were made involving 12 players, the most on a single NFL trade deadline in 30 years. Beyond that, 20 players were moved in the weeks leading up to the deadline, the most in NFL history.
The Bengals’ defense should have had the spotlight after shutting down the Seahawks in Week 6, but they were overshadowed by the defensive performances from the Browns and Jets in their upset wins.
Lou Anarumo’s defensive unit won’t be overlooked in this space. The Bengals’ defensive coordinator delivered a sensational game plan in last week’s 17–13 win, one that confused Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith.
Smith often held the ball too long because he was unable to read the coverages downfield, which led to two interceptions.
This was a great week to study the film.
In this space, we’re going to explore how the Lions’ offense is a destroyer of worlds, with quarterback Jared Goff being the main reason Detroit has regained its roar.
Then there’s the Chiefs’ defense, which suddenly is a top-10 unit in almost every meaningful metric. While defensive tackle Chris Jones and corner Trent McDuffie get ample ink, it was a pair of linebackers who made a play emblematic of Kansas City’s success.
And, finally, a clip showing why the Patriots must move on sooner rather than later from Mac Jones.
